"head for warmer climate"
I usually stay up here in the cold and for the last 500+ days I've spent most of my time here on Speedwake, unreal ! :)
I do need to get my azz back down to Texas though, before the Old Man comes looking for me ! :D |

After the Harbor Hop, at LOTO, the Sutphen is headed for Central Performance & Rigging for a little winter overhaul....
It also gives me something to do when the bride needs to go shopping at the Outlet Mall. I can head over to Scott & Ruben's to hang out... :D
New gauges should arrive today, swimplatform is already here, drives and tabs are headed to Gelpro, and who knows what else I can come up with... :winker: |

It was going install the blowers but its already done,
so I'll just wax the the boat about 20 times and do a lot of snowmobiling when I'm not just sitting behind the wheel of the boat waiting for summer! |

| I plan on installing hydraulic steering, to try and rid some of that chine walk, and have about 3 custom entertainment centers to build so i can pay for that and a couple of big trips next year. Trimman |

I will be dropping a bigger motor in my boat within 3 weeks and hope to run it a few times before winter hits. Last year I pulled my boat from the Inside boat storage (boatel) on thanksgiving day (after a brisk run) and put it on the trailer, brought it home and winterized it. Then broke it back out in early march. Hope to do the same this year. I wish everyone could have a season as good as mine, and to you boats down south of me, I wish I had your season.

Missbehave1,
You are one crazy SOB. I am not sure what I find more impressive, 100mph+ or the fact that you snapped a photo at that speed.
The pair between your legs is most definately bigger than the pair between mine!
It is rare that I run towards that speed, and I assure you there is no way a photo would ever be snapped.
Folks we are in the presense of greatness. |

Hey ryoung99
NEVER EVER try this at home...... :dontdoit: :dontdoit:
Do it in Canada.... it's MUCH more meaningful. Seeing they have a speedlimit on the trails and Maine doesn't...... :D
See you out on the trails....
Drive fast, take chances.... :laugher: |

Good question, and this season I plan on using my new digital camera/video....
Up until this spring we never had a digital camera...... we do now and I'll be MORE than happy to post when the ground is frozen and the sleds running the lakes, rivers and trails once again.... =-)
I may need some help in figuring out how to post a vid clip but I'm SURE someone on here will lend some assistance.... is it the same as posting a photo? :freak1: |

Jeff B,
That is my rig.
We race with Pacific Offshore in California. This was our first year racing with them. We won the P4 event in Pittsburg, beating three other P4's and two Factory 1 boats.
The boat is amazing 85 with a 377 Mercury Scorpion engine. To race P4 we have to use a smaller prop to keep the boat under 80 (but in the rough stuff that is pretty fast).
Changing the subject, we ride out sleds out west in the Tahoe area and make an annual trip to Diamond Lake Oregon. |

VERY impressive!!! Something I'd LOVE to try some day... or at least ride in some day.
When riding out West is it mostly boondocking/mountain riding or groomed trails your riding on??? Here in the East it's ALL groomed trails.... oh, one can (and we do several times a season) hit unplowed/ungroomed logging roads/trails and ride all day without seeing another sled but most people stick to well marked groomed trails..... that's where the high mph #'s come into play along with 250-300+ mile day rides.... In Canada (Quebec and New Brunswick) we have had a few 400+ mile days....
Take care and boat/ride safe. |

How does groomed trails through the mountains sound? The wife is not real big on riding off trail but when riding in the Sierra's she can stay on trail and I can do some hill climbing and easily catch back up to her.
400 miles in one day? I would walk like a cowboy for a month if I tried that. We typically stay under 100 per day.
We like to take the motorhome and spend the weekend riding. Often we hang out during the day and do most of our riding at night. In some areas it is much better. Nothing like standing on a 10,000 foot peak at midnight looking at the landscape. |

It sounds like you guys ride quite a bit..... what brand sleds do you ride???
400 mile day rides are long but sometimes we have to do that when touring..... Two years ago eight of us had our sleds hauled to Thunderbay Ontario (Above Minn) and a week later we flew out and started our 12 day ride back to Maine.... MOST days were in the 200 mile range but some were over 300.... the sleds looked like pack mules with the saddle bags we strapped to them..... only got caught for speeding once during the whole return trip to Maine.... the cops let us go after they saw we weren't "locals" and we were doing a cross country trip and all..... :laugher:
SOME DAY I'll head out west to ride in the mountains..... that's where 50-100 miles of mountain riding is a HUGE day. ;) |

| Andretti 502 |
| Off Season this year..... Andretti is going inside for a makeover. 502 runs strong so just a few new billet and chrome pieces to spruce up under the hatch. Outer hull is getting complete revamp with fresh paint and graphics. Ive been thinking of what to put on her all summer.....still haven't decided. I guess I won't know until I do it. Any ideas will be taken into consideration. No checkered flags, maybe flames. definitely loud colors though. |

We have a pair of Ski-doos. I have the MXZ700 the wife rides a Formula 600.
Both are short tracks although I have some deep deep lugs on mine and it does real well in the deel stuff, just no room for error as the minute you let off the sled will sink like a rock.
Riding out west is pretty awesome, we live less than an hour from Lake Tahoe and can go riding as often as we like. |

For once I'm jealous, And I thought boating all year was the bomb. All that frozen stuff sounds like a blast!
Only problem with the frozen stuff is the outfits the women wear. WAY TOO MUCH MATERIAL !!!
I think I'll stick to boating afterall.

But remember the clothing does come off. Back in the warmth of the hot-tub or motorhome after riding.
I assure you getting back to the cabin is just as good as heading below deck.....
It is like Christmas, 1/2 the fun is unwrapping the gift. |
