If I remember correctly--
When DONNIE was born, his Mother who had a HAIRLIP, yelled his name out and no one questioned her pronunciation as DONZI!!

According to Michael Aronow (per POWERBOAT)..........But Aronow kept one mold for himself - the 16-foot prototype for the first Donzi. That name didn't come from a secretary's affectionate nickname for the powerboat mogul, as has been widely rumored, according to Michael Aronow.
"The Formula 23 had gotten written up in Esquire and one of Don's old buddies from New York, Morris Levy of Roulette Records, saw it and complimented him on the interior," Aronow said. "He told Don that he ought to be an interior designer. But they would have to call him Donsie."
Donsie became Donzi.
Curious if anyone else had heard this story??? |

| I've read the same story in the book Blue Thunder year's ago ....... Seem's that lot's of story's were floating around on the subject ..... One that I liked in paticular was that long time friend (Aviator) Tommy Sopwith had given Don the name ..... Seem's that Aranow owned a hanger and some planes at one time too ................. |
