Dad and I finished redoing the 18' this year. Its a 1986 and needed major help: new stringers, new transom, and the blue was so faded the guy selling it thought it would need to be painted. I think it looks gorgeous now and its a blast to drive!!!

Cool Boat, I may be in a 22 soon, I should by a ZX for the cabin, but the classics are just so cool looking!!!

Thanks everybody. We've got a red and white 22, but I honestly think the 18 is more fun to drive. I've had a really good time with it this summer

Rchevelle - we ended up buying our first Donzi, a 16 Classic, because we had sold the Excalibur to buy a cruiser for comfort and Dad and I went into speed withdrawl. We've loved them ever since and have had a couple of 22's, the 16, and now the 18.

I am sure the 18 is more fun to drive, But I would be afraid to peek out the inlet with a 18, 22 feet of glass gives me a little more confidence on the outside :D :D

We mostly run the ICW, But there are a lot of large cruisers down here that also run the ICW, and they for some reason dont think they need to obey the "NO WAKE" signs.

I can understand that. The extra few feet of hull makes a huge difference in the way these things ride. Even the 16 and 18 ride very differently for such a small amount. The 16 is actually 16'7" I belive and the 18 is very close to 18' so the differential isn't as great as the way the ride and drive would have you believe

Elizabeth ,,,,,, That your boat now ????? Will you be bringing her to AOTH next year ?????? I may be pan handling for rides again, as pulling the classic from Dallas all the way to Cumberland is a real pain ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I'll by ya lunch at Lees Ford and help on the gasssssssssssss ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Have fun Kiddo ........ Bruce.

Hey Bruce! It may be my new boat, I'm not sure yet, but I'm thinking of buying it from dad. Its the old practical vs cool boat decision :) You know you've got a ride with us next year at AOTH, and of course I'll ferry you around if I've got my own there. I'm hoping we'll have both Donzis there next year but we'll see.
