I think you did the right thing for closing HollaGeo's thread.

Was causing a little too much negativity.

I'm glad I don't get the new posts to this subject in my e-mail anymore.

Gracious.

What did I miss? With so many members we are bound to get a few bad apples here and there... I know I have walked the line some... but I always mean well, some don't...

Are you a lawyer Stu? lol :winker:

Over the years I have been and am still involved in boating, motorcycling, snowmobiling, hotrods, etc.

These are communities of enthusiasts. Most people I encounter and deal with, like myself, view each other as enthusiasts. I don't know how old they are, what color they are, what religion or ethnic background. The common thing with us in our enjoyment and intrest in our sport.

I am not brand specific. If you see me on my harley and you pull up on your other brand, you will be welcome and made to feel part of the group. You ride and that is what it is about. Same with boats, sleds, tricycles or paper airplanes.

If you can approach the sport you enjoy with a similar attitude you will be suprised at how much you will learn, how much fun you will have and how many new friends you will make.

Just my .02 Post away, enjoy, learn, teach, but most of all have fun.

I 2nd that attitude farrar, My knowledge of boating and such has increased 10 fold as a result of being exposed to speedwake members. I am VERY grateful.

Wow Sorry for the need to edit, but I can't even remember what I said that could have been offensive?
I know it wasn't vulgar.

I thought it was great the way everyone stuck together and stuck up for each other. IMHO.

The offensive one was the target of trying to educate someone in manners and protocol. It just brought out the fangs a bit in all of us.

Sorry if I offended. I was just having fun with G Hopper :laugher:

I agree that farrar1998 summed things up quite well...
My .02cents.... It is not a matter of age that makes someone boring or interesting, it is more a matter of attitude... Experience is a great teacher and there are many on this site with plenty of valuable experience... and with a willingness to share.
Humor, technical assistance, common interest, and people with a desire to enjoy life are among the things that make this a great site for all ages...

our circle of friends has always been very diversified as far as age goes. it is not expected that you will respect someone merely because that person is older . that would be stupid. everyone has to earn my respect and visa versa.our younger friends are respected and welcome because they also bring something valuble to the table. as i have stated many times ," if you don't have friends , you don't have anything" .life is about learning , not all from books. i value my friends and their opinions even once in a while when they tell me i'm an azzho.. sometimes we all need a slap upside the head :laugher:

As do I value my friends. :)
But I would value them more if they helped wax the boat while drinking my beer.

Maybe something else would be more likely. Like showing up at the dock a little early, not an hour late, with full coolers and money. :dead: :dead:

I found a cool trick.

If you break parts all the time people eventually assume that your boat is broken all the time.

So when it's not broken, no one is around. Or if they are around, you just say your boats broken. No questions from them, they'll just roll their eyes and keep on with the other conversations.

I keep saying breaking parts can be fun, it all just depends on what kind of mood your in.

Depends on who they are that I invite, but usually all chip in for gas or picks up the dinner bill.

Had friends that liked coming on the boat. Brought beer and goodies, but always 1 to 1 1/2 hours late. Asked them to show up on time, but did no good. Got pizzed one day and left with out them. He had the nerve to ask why. Told him I waited, didn`t think he was coming so I left. Cured him.
Kidnova
GHopper brought out the worst in many of us, myself included. By that I mean he/she/it got several of us pizzed off and several of us responded, I would say acordingly. But as I mentioned in one of my posts, I don't think he/she/it was legit. Seemed like a kid out for kicks on a forum. Look back, he/she/it made absolutely no sense at all, but still managed to pizz many of us off.

Doesn't matter. As long as we can share experiences, knowledge, and opinions, help, and be helped....that's what counts.

Besides....my daddy gots mo money dan yo daddy, and my daddy can kick yo daddy's azz !!!

I've only been a member for a couple of weeks now, and have already learned alot. There are going to be threads that have controversal issues that are healthy to discuss. Though I agree entirely with the no bashing rule, sometimes things are going to be said that although harmless, will offend someone. What I tell people around me is "If you don't want your feelings hurt, leave them in the dresser drawer". (no offense intended)
