Pops has a great event planned for the entire weekend. Wish I could come up with a good or bad reason to drag the boat 30 hours to run with you guys. Have fun!!

J
shane b
Jim nice to see you found us over here :D.
Flashwave
Thanks. I've been bouncing around the Open Forums here, over on Hot Boat a little and checking in with OSO. Damm OSO has gone to the shitter. I definately mis MM keeping the other side informed.

J
shane b
Sometimes the truth hurts and MM was just there telling the truth. I haven't been over to OSO in a few weeks as it is sad the way it is run :fart2:
Haulinvols
I am going to try to come down and drag the boat with me from Knoxville for the races Sunday. Anyone else going to have a boat there? This will be my first time going to a race, I can't wait.
RumRunner
Does anyone know a good place to watch the race from?
Haulinvols
RumRunner, are you going to be on a boat, or on land?
RumRunner
Land.... :(
Haulinvols
Here is a map of the race site. Anywhere along the shore should be good. The pits are near the intersection of HWY 153 and Amnicola Hwy at the Chickamauga Lake TVA Park which should not be a bad spot. I will be on the water outside the safety zone, so if you see a orange black and blue Baja 245 yell. :)
RumRunner
Thanks. Just got the info from Pop.
shane b
How long of a trip is it from the Atlanta airport to the pits?
RumRunner
Shane,

Depending on traffice I'd bet you're looking at about 2 hours.
shane b
is that normal driving or warp speed. I land in Atlanta at 5:20am Thursday
RumRunner
Shane,

Normal driving for Atlanta!

Lets put it this way from the Airport to my house it 76 miles. I made it to the airport The other morning to fly to NY in 57 minutes driving with traffic!
Haulinvols
So, this will be the first race for me. The only day I can be there is Sunday. I had planned on visiting the pits that morning, then jumping on the boat and watching the races from the water. Any tips for a newby?
RumRunner
Not being familar with the area, it's hard to say. Give me a call when you're by the pits.

You got that right Gary and I worked our buts off as the SVL's were all so close in the speed runs and closed course runs, It was great to see all 3 of us working together to help each other out to see who could go the fastest in the speed runs..
Throttle Up
Congrats Shane and Gary on such a spectacular run, on Friday!

All of the intensive work, that you and Gary, put into your racing program would impress the best. It is all of that dedication and passion that helps you to achieve your goals.

You guys are flat our smokin at 92+ in a single engine Vee Light! We applaud you.

I kinda figured.........

thats why I posted it :D :D

Its all good though, Shanes a busy boy at the races, especially when people like me stay home and drink, instead of going to the races to drink with him. :D
Flashwave
Shane sucks!!!! :slam:

First of all the boat should have done 94 not 93. A little more tresting and a little less drinking if you get my drift. Second, he went to Chattanooga. That sucks because I didn't. Third, congratulations. That is a bitchen number. You and Gary did a heck of a fine job. :a1:
shane b
Jim I agree the # should have been 94 but do to time constants we couldn't run that last run :( but hay there is always next year :devious:

Rick sorry I was to busy working :D

What was it like? I had planned on locking through from Knoxville to the race. Rode the bike down there to check everything out on Friday. Didnt seem like very many boats? OSS scheduled a race the same weekend? Seemed like the spectator area for the boats was pretty far away from all the action. I have been to a lot of offshore races "land only". I was all pumped up to take the boat to this race but didnt????????? Here are a couple of pics I shot on Friday.

#1If you were there on friday ,then that's what it was like .

#2 Actually that was an unusually large boat countfor a "DIVISIONAL " race.

#3 Try being a good little Pom- Pom cheerleader without tearing down another organization.

#4 If you had entered your'e boat to race, then there would have been a bigger boat count ,now wouldn't there?

#5 You say you are a BOAT racer Who has been to a "LOT OF RACE'S ON LAND ONLY " That must be hard on your'e drive's . :winker:

Sorry? Didnt mean to come across as being negative?

#1. I missed watching the race! What was it like watching the boat from the water? Was the view good? :)

#2. I was expecting more? I was there on Friday. Should have asked? How many boats were there race day? :)

#3. Who did I tear down? I talked with some folks there and they told me that OSS scheduled a race that weekend. If that is what you mean? I am not a political type of fan! Just love fast boats! OSS, APBA, Superboat, etc, etc, They are the same to me? :)

#4. My boats are far from being race worthy. I am just a poor boy from a poor family! Just crazy about boats! :)

#5. Never said I was a racer? When I said I was going to take the boat to the race, I meant to watch the race. Have been to Key West, St Pete, Cleveland, and Washington. Take my family, we love it! Have always been envious of the fans watching the race out in their boats. Thought this would be an easy effort? Hopefully next year I will not miss the Chattanooga event? We were invited to a party on our lake the Sat. before the race. We couldnt get motivated Sunday morning to go!

I am not pissed off at your reply so please dont be pissed off at me. I should have phrased my questions better? I cant type wortha dam! Hunt and peck, you know?
NUT JOB
CV- Don't take to heart my reply . I thought you were stirrin' up problems that we do not need in offshore . Please accept my sincere apology . :D

I'm a po' boy as well ,but I live in Key West so it's OK .

We have some pic's comin' from key west to be posted on here soon by shane B. you may like .

Keep in touch , Next year in tenn, you can give us a hand if you want . ( MICHAEL ) :D
CVX1823
Thanks Michael!
Dude! I would love to volunteer! I have tried my best to get friends, workmates, and other Boat groups interested in offshore. I run a website glastron/carlson photo site and have tried to get folks interested in a meet during a race? Not much success? It is unreal how many people do not have a clue what offshore is about? My bestfriend turned me on to it back in the 80's at Key West. Been hooked ever since.
