The cheap chrome stick on band that wraps around my galley looks like $hit. It has gotten stained (?) and also has began to peel off. Has anybody replaced this band? I tried to get a stainless band made at the local machine shop but they didn't have anything thin enogh. They said they would order some in but it would be pricy because they have to order a entire SHEET??!!!!! At any rate I'm open for suggestions.

O.k. heres what I did. I had to order some chrome 1" vynal and some 1" automotive molding tape. I peeled the original off, put the new molding tape on, replaced the strip and finally covered with chrome vynal tape. Looks good. I just don't know how long it will last. I'm not out much $ if it doesn't work.

O.k. Just for a giggle I figured I should call Fountain (never even dawned on me) to find out how horrifically expensive this stuff was. After finding out the cost, I have come to the conclusion that I am an absolute idiot. I should be beaten and flogged for my ignorance. I know your all just dying, sitting in front of your screens waiting to see the price. Well....it's.....it's 71cents a foot :laugher: I couldn't live with my sorry attempt to fix the old one so I decided to shell out the $3.50 and buy the factory stuff.

Equity loan isn't gonna get the job done I'm afraid. We just better refinance the whole mortgage all together. :winker: :laugher: |

Yep, some of the parts are too cheap to pass over. I called Fountain needing 1 of the red dash indicator lights. $3 each. Just had to order a few extras so the shipping wouldn't be higher than the part. :)
