| Hello everyone. I have been trying to decide on my next purchase. I have been thinking about a 288 or 32 Sunsation or a 27 or 29 Fountain. But I do not really want a cabin. I would prefer a race setup hull and cabin. I don't want to go with Mercury power. But it seems I will have to go with a bravo drive of some kind since the Arneson drive I want sells for around 20K. Any help or ideas would be great. I am able to do most of the rigging myself and this boat would be on a budget. This boat would mainly be used for Poker Runs. Also is true that Fountain has a 60% mark-up from Wholesale to retail? |

| No on the markup. Looking for used and add your own power? |

If I were going to mainly do Poker runs then I don't think I would want anything smaller than 35 - no, make that a 38. Just the thought of doing a Poker Run in a 27 makes my back hurt :) |

If you are looking for a race boat that is unrigged on a budget take a look at an unrigged superboat Y2K. This is from their site
"30-Y2K BARE Hull, deck and gas tank constructed for up to 1,000 HP - $35,250 - Your choice of power - additional cost."

No problem. These guys will custom build whatever you want and how you want. Proven rough water hull that is very fast with mild power. |

If you are looking at a 27 and 29 Fountain I will let you know that between both boat with same power the 29 is faster. Yes it's weird but the 29 has a better bottom and is balanced better and carry's weight better. Same goes for a 32 and 35 with same power the 35 is faster.
Have fun!, Mike |

| If your poker running in some snot, any of those boat are going to beat you.. I have seen the Dominator do pretty well in some rough stuff though... If you want the ride, need 37 to 40+ feet for that... |

WOW!!! Very nice setup. Way bigger than I want. I have talked to John (Owner) at Superboat and might go that route. If anyone sees a 27 or 29 without power please post it. I still am not sure what I want. But I am not looking to boat this season anyway. This is all looking into the 2007 boat season. |
