Re-doing My Dash               >>> CLICK HERE FOR THE ORIGINAL THREAD <<<

Allright I need a lil help, I am in the process of revamping my dash with all new gauges and dash panel. I will list my questions hopefully someone can help.

1. My original dash panel did not have the 2 warning lights on it, I am talking about the one that is to the left of the speedo location and the one that is to the right of the tach location. Now my new dash panel came in and it has 2 holes where these warning lights go, I purchased the lights but how do I wire them in and what are they for..?

2. My original dash has a location for 2 diffrent bilge pump switches. The new dash only has one switch labeled "bilge pumps" can I wire in the second bilge pump to the one single switch..?

3. My new dash panel does not line up with the existing holes in the dash some of them do line up but most of them dont... should I use some kind of speed clip behind the screw to hold the panel in place, because the holes are only off by about a half a hole, If I drill new holes it will be right along side a existing hole..?

4. Why didnt someone warn me that this would be a nightmare job..?

Thanks for any help
Wally
I'm sure you will get a better responce from an actual fountain owner later but to get things going for ya:

1. The lights are probably for oil psi warning. and you can wire them into your alarm system....just need the wiring diagram to know what wires to tap into...

2. you can run both pumps off of one switch....not sure exactly how the pumps on the fountains are setup but if both are next to each other at the same height then a single pole switch would work. But to be on the safe side it would be wiser to wire then on a dual pole switch so each one is on a sepperate circut incase one was to short out and take out the other pump.....

3. It would be easier to just get some 10 min epoxy and fill the holes and drill new one's straight. If you try and drill a new hole right next to or almost ontop of an old one you probably wont get the screw to bite down good or it will strip out later not having the proper support.......a very easy trick is to mix up that 10min epoxy and use toothpicks to scoop up some epoxy and jamb them in the holes.....when it dries you can take some side cutters and clip them flush and fill in the dimple with some more epoxy.....
