I find it funny that when OSS makes an announcement all of the SBI/APBA guys either say great job or dont say anything at all. Seems when SBI/APBA has an annoucement all of the OSS guys want to do is trash it and then blame the SBI/APBA guys for doing it. Sounds like how they do the rules over there, enforce them, change them, find out how much money that particular team is funneling into OSS and then rule accordingly. What a joke!!!! Then again LLC had 80 boats per race SBI had 20, which one is still around?

Great News, OSS has a Super V unlimited class now too! With one boat of course.
So.....
SV Unlimited 1 boat
SC, yes Supercat, 3 boats, maybe 4 later this year.
Turbine...1 maybe 2 later this year
PX 3 boats
What is OSS thinking? There goes the 5 boat min they always touted. |

They have 5 Supercats. CMS is fixed now will be in Saint Clair and Warpaint will be in Saint Clair. I am just wondering what happend to Nichols Offshore? I know Popeyes was sold and so was Bud Select and Todd Werner sold his boat Pro Marine now BTM. Im still waiting for them to race OSS I loved that boat I believe the fastest boat with 750s.
I dont know about this new SV unlimited class seems weird that they are throwing these classes together like they are. The TX class has I guess two boats now both Haggins. I think David Scott has a Turbine but isnt racing it.
They have potential with the PX class with three very solid boats right now. It seems like Callan only races in Key West so I dont know why they are listed on the OSS website. I would look for this class to expand more in the future.
The other classes speak for themselves a lot of competition. I am not biased towards any organization but I myself believe that the OSS has a good plan for the future. Next year I see them teaming up with OPA for nearly all of the races where OPA races Saturday and OSS races Sunday that would be the only logical conclusion to all of the madness. It would be like a Nascar Busch and Cup series.

Why didnt we just stay where we were and skip all the nonsense of the last three years.

What it comes down to is OSS wanted what APBA had ,so they took it . I guess it 's OK tho, What's that old phrase ? ......Possesion is 9 tenth's of the law . :laugher:

Guys,
It is what it is! There will always be egoes in this sport and that interferes with us as a whole going forward. Some of us have sugar daddy's some of us are flat broke, but each team owner made a decision that is the best for their team and we have to go with it. I wish every racer continued success and most importantly a fun safe time. It's not like we make a million a year just to race and you know what as soon as Billy quits writing the checks people will revolt and form another association that is the latest and best thing that their ever was. Offshore racing unfortunatly has a vicious cycle that repeats itself time and time again. I know I made the right choice that is the best for my team and is the best for my future in offshore.
Nothing we can say or do will interupt the cycle, its sad but true, I wish we could all race together, but that will never happen.

I know .It cant be fixed now .They screwed it up too bad. The three year cycle will come into play here shortly .
I should be pretty accomplished by then ,so I can enter the arena other than as crew . :D
I dont really have a problem with OSS 's original plan .4 classes only the wealthy ,in a closed environment . I want to be where the teams still go out on the town ,instead of spending all the time in the pits with each other.
Fans want to share the excitement with you.
My introduction into offshore was so cool . I had to be a part. The first big race I went to ,My wife and I were gawking at Cat Can Do super cat . Keith Holmes
after putting it in the water invited my wife and I sit init .That was cool that they were that open to us . I found many other teams the same way .Jack Jervosic?( i think thats how it is spelled )from baker engines donated his afternoon to us showing all there was to a big event .I will always remember that . That has actually happened many many times . Which I am gratefull for .most of them are gone.
Thats gone . Big price's at a gate keep the fans out . You can only humiliate them so many times . This is not nor will it become a paying sport. Its strickly exhibition.
( except for the factory days . They worked.
Kinda' like drag racing a super stock camaro . Even the guy with a six banger felt part of the team .
No this new gang wont survive . Its a shame for those who REALLY are putting up the $$$$ :) |

If you want to have a great time at one of the best race sites go to Saint Clair Michigan in two weeks. Free admission and a great time. Could be the largest race of the year.

I still enjoy the big boats ,and have kept a record ,this should be close . AMF dropped you down a tad . But they have been every where this year . I cant imajine having to spend so much time up north ! :eek: :)

Sorry we dont do much hardball over here. What we print is about 90 % accurate ,so no sense losing control like on youre site . Facts prove whether you liked mike A. or not He made the best moves. Even when He left ,It was still the best .I think you will make a nice club with the $$$$$$$hdwefor sure .
I doubt the P-classes will be able to keep up with you.
Unless AMF puts a couple more years in to it . He just might. :) |

Not going to start a pissing match but you are misinformed. I'll leave it at that. I enjoy racing and I wish OSS continued success, but as I said above the cycle will rear its ugly head. I wish we could ditch our egoes, but as Candy has proven, if you keep changing your mind about things you'll never get off the dock. I mean this with all due respect, but if you believe the garbage that you are trying to get us to believe, I'll make you a deal: You send me a million dollars investment for a return of 10 million. Its a bridge that will connect Fla to the Bahamas, everyone is buying in. Even Shane has sent his money in, I myself have 3 million into it.
I wont get into details, but I know that the towns are not paying, umm you can call the TDC's yourself. Places like Destin, I called the Coast Guard station and asked them the draft going out their local inlet. I was told 11ft at low tide. So dredging my a$$. And on top of it the maintenance dredging that will be taking place starts on Nov 15th, hmmmm isnt that 3 days after their worlds are over??????????

About a couple of weeks ago all of the sudden I could not log on...basically I was booted so I emailed OSO and they had no idea what was up and Steve even emailed me back saying I've been good and everything should be OK...turns out some moderator whom does not even know me decided for no reason to boot me..Steve took care of it. Maybe there is a misunderstanding like I had because I can not see why you would be booted as you get along with everyone. |

Since this writing ( not that long ago ) Now the super V fleet is down to three as well ! Bob Bull never went to st claire ,
And it appears that opa will be running on their own entirely next year . We'll see .
And I read youre posts on oso .You are most definatly biased toward Bertal 's OSS (BOSS for short ),along with his militant numbering system . Remember the last time that happened ? Makes me sick to see you guys follow his lead . But its youre club .
Now the scl class is having problems . Svl is losing some as well . Youre not keeping racers . You get them in ok ,but you dont seem to hold on to them .
I dont hate oss I just wish they would either go all out and do this thing ,or quit tearing things up ,by way of the Two BS ,s ! Youre a proffesional correct ? Fix it . Put a cork in those two . :D |
