| I was wondering if anyone on here might have idea of what a 47' fountain race boat built for race. It has a cabin but it really no accessiable. This boat is set up for 3 engines but current being sold with no engines of outdrives or gimble housings. Just what do you think its worth..a local man is selling this boat. The only things missing is the powerplant all the trim and gauge and cables are there just no power????? It is also coming with the trailer. |

Wow you think that much I talked to quite a few people about it and I got uder 20K. I was directed here to get a confirmation on that price really 45K. I was wondering how you figured that.

No one else has stepped up to the plate on that boat.
Its worth whatever you will pay.
I'd think 10-20k, if anything at all.
Its old and no step. So it will absorb 50%
more power to get the same speed when compared to
a new one. It will drink 50% more gas at the same
speed as a new 47.
I have the performance model for that specific Fountain 47.
Let's say you put twin 600 HP EFI engines in it. Those are
not cheap. You can save a tiny bit getting carbs instead.
Still, you'll spend $60K if you are very cheap about everything.
Running twin 600 HP engines flat out, you'll go 60 knots,
and burn 100 gallons per hour. Or 120 gallons per hour if
you cheap out with carbs instead of EFI.
$350 to $400 per hour.
Let's say you fork out a quarter of a million dollars for twin
Mercruiser 1075s.
Then you'll hit 97 mph, burning 220 gallons per hour.
In the near future, that will be a thousand bucks an hour.
I just don't think you will find that boat a bargain. |
