| I voted 71 to 80. Before I put it away for the season, I seen 71 on gps on flat water. So I feel better voting 71 to 80 rather than 61 to 70! |

| 1boatnut |
Tail wind,going with the current.1/2 tank of fuel,1 person,empty cooler,80 degrees,humidity 75 % & porta potty left on shore....
It depends on who's boat is pulling me !!:D |
| DonMan |
| You should note: GPS speeds only. If I was to use speedo reading, I could jump up a catagory. I`ll be honest though! |
| mosi |
| I have told more than one person... You want your boat to go faster? See that little thing on the back of your boat hanging down in the water? It is connected to the speedo and if you make the hole a little bigger you will see your speed go up. Many a boater has gone off wide eyed and smiling with the anticipation of more speed. It must be true, my speedo said so!!! ;) |

In the course of talking with boat owners I have noticed that their boats get approximately 10 MPH faster for each 6 pack consumed. :D :D I guess that it must be really HEAVY beer. :D OF course we are only talking dock racing here. |

My boat with the old prop does 50 last year (that was with a cut hose and water spraying into the intake).....(LONG STORY).............
So i am hoping to get 55-58 this year with it actaully burning fuel instead of water....
I tell boaters the truth when they ask how fast. And when non-boaters ask you have to lie cause they think 80 is slow. |
| Well Done |
Hey Tommy.......I can appreciate the truth. Ya know everybody's boat always went tripple digit speeds until the GPS. One thing about the truth, ya don't have to remember who you told what to!!!
I hope you get the 58 this season. You might try speed coat on the bottom. Just might pick up a mPh or 2. |
| Tommyerieoffshore |
Hey well done. Might have to try that. Every little thing adds up in the end. 1 here and 2 there equals 3 at the end. Is that you boat in you profile picture? If it is what kind and dam thats sweet.
I also have a 18p prop thining about upgrading to a 20 or 21 that should make a differnce. i am new to baoting i don't really know anything about it yet. The information i do know i think i s dangerous. HEH
well catch you later.... |

| The boat in the profile is mine. It is a custom built, modified Eliminator 23 foot tunnel. New engine is a big block chevrolet 540 cubic inch quad rotor whipple supercharged blown gas motor. Will go to the dyno next weekend most likley and hoping for 1100 HP. Engine builder is Ron Munson at Marine Assault Custom Engines. You can see the entire build project on the www.Havasubarney.com web site. Under small and Big block performance by infomaniac. |

I just bought another boat on eBay that I will pick up this weekend. I bought a 19ft Tahati with a 455 and a jacuzzi jet drive. Present owners claims 74 on the radar gun with 3 people in the boat not using the 200hp NOS shot under the 850 holley double pumper. Any one out there with much experience with this type of boat? I always wanted one to play with so I bought myself one for Christmas! ( I'm so good to me! LOL )

Those Yamaha jet boats are speed limited. I owed a Exciter 270 and a friend owed one like yours. Both stock ran 58 mph on gps. I machined a pair of bushings for the jet nozzles that kicked it up about 5 degree's. Without touching the motor (other then turning down the oil pump), got 65 mph. Loved chasing down those pesky waverunners. Sure fooled a bunch of them when I blew by them. If your interesed in how to correctly measure the oil pump volume setting, PM me. |

| Not slower than rough water..... your prop is always in the water, instead of it coming out then re-entering all the time. Of courese a lil chop is needed to take advantage of the stepped hulls but not so much that the drive is constantly out. |

Ummm...That is a new one... I am not talking five foot sees... I guess it depends on what your definition of flat water is. Glass calm water is/will always be slower the a 1-2 foot chop... |
