After reading the post about se Florida boaters, it got me wondering where most of the members are located.
cuda
I know that midwest and Great Lakes is kind of redundant, and that Foreign and California is also redundant.:)
Canada Jeff
Gee, can you guess which one I chose?

Well I'm not sure now!!! I am on Lake Michigan, also in the Midwest:confused:
That puts me in 2 different locations:alien:
Glassman
Right in the middle of no where........central Ohio:D
cuda
boatnut, I knew GL and midwest were the same, just wanted to be more specific.

Glassman, that would be mid west

Great Lake is coming on strong! If you added GL and midwest, they would be running away with it now. I had a feeling Great Lakes were going to be pretty dominant. Doesn't Michigan have more registered boats than any other state?

Northeast for now but if this Winter is any sign of the ones to come - I'm outta here !!!!!
Aggressor Tom
Michigan has a ton of Bayliners. My dad just sold his last summer and one of my coworkers just bought one yesterday. 17 I/O almost 50mph out the door brand new for 12 thousand.

If Kentucky is the gateway to the south, then it has to be the gateway to the north.....

What? Are you new here? :D Sometimes it gets cold in the northeast. Fact of life, get used to it. Last winter was barely a winter. This year is one for the books. Next year??? Who knows   It's the summers we live for anyway. This is just nature's way of giving us time to do the chores we can't get done during boating season and to accumulate enough gas money for another season. And remember, if you sell your boat you will need twice as much next summer. :D

Laster ,

No , I'm not new :D !!

Born and bred in NY but the warm Winters and bad knees over the last decade have made me less tolerant.....

I guess the colder than normal temps over the last 2 1/2 weeks haven't helped either.

I'll be O.K. once it breaks 35 !!!

Well my alternate personality is right off of Lake superior, but myself personally unfortunately crossed the border into "no water" territory. :-) (for those of you who know the MN/IA difference)

 :yak:  There is good news even in the Tundra of the North. Went down to Lake Erie this morning and actually saw some open water. I have faith for continued good weather but am still envious of you South Florida guys and your forever boating season. Looking for news on the area around Ft. Meyers? I'm otta here within 5 yrs.

Fort Myers area is getting expensive, not too bad a little North of there, but Naples Area to the South is outta Control. You cant beat the smooth water in the Gulf, I am towing My boat over there to keep at a friends, probably right after the Air & Sea show over here. Keep it there for a month or so, and go over on the weekends.

Maine.... where the lakes and rivers will be frozen MOST of the season....

Then again.... the lobster is pretty good. :D
Parrothead
I know I'll catch Hell for this, but....I live in Texas. Texas isn't Southeast/west, its just Texas. Our boating season is a good 6 months. 3 months of it is nothing but blue skys and sunshine. Although it does get hotter'n'hell, the girls just seem to wear less!

O.k., let me have it!!! :gunner: :dead1:  :flipa: :hammer: :saw: :stupid:

Its been in the 90's for a month or two, BUT 100+ is coming and never seems to go away. You'll see me bitch'in about it in a month or so. You'll get better speeds up there anyway, but you only have a short time to enjoy it! :laugher: :winker:

Oh well we took the boat out after work today anyway.... mid to upper 60's (were tough/stupid) up here... :D
I know what you mean about running quicker.... cooler weather and water they do seem to run better.....
When we hit the ocean in the summer here off the coast of Maine it's usually in the 50 deg range (water temp) and the boat runs real crisp... kinda like my snowmobiles in mid January @ -25 below zero :laugher: tough to find the girls in thongs though... :(
Parrothead
Snowmobile's...what the hell is that!?! :laugher: I suppose its like anything else, once your used to it, its not all that bad!

I spend most of my summer on the Mississippi while living in Davenport, IA. Our season ended early this year because lack of water! I never though I would say this, but let it snow and bring the river level back up!
