1985 Scarab 1 engine cover construction

Hello all I’m new to the site and to the Scarab 1’s. Not new to boating but I fell in love with the looks of this old classic and plan on redoing it. The engine cover on mine has had some work done to it and not up to my standards. The outside is the factory fiberglass shell but the inside has been fabricated with 1”x6’s and looks like garbage. Was wondering if anyone can post a photo of what it’s supposed to look like. I was planning on glassing in some 1/2” plywood to the inside shell and cleaning it up but just wondering what it came with from the factory. Thanks for any help that can be provided.
