Question For JeffJ and everyone

I'm looking at a '88 41' Apache Full Race Kevlar hull six bolster setup with the playboy cabin.

I know what my 38 Scarab would do with 500HP's, but I have never dealt with a boat like this.

My question is, with dyno'd 572/850hp Huber1350 trans and #6 wet sump drive how fast do you think it will go??

Mid-high 80's is my guess.

What do you think?

I would think the boat should run in the low 80's those #6's suck some Hp. Do you know what the boat weighs ,props and RPM range the motors run at ? That thing is a great ocean boat and will out run most in the big water.

The weight is 11000-12000# Props 28and 30 pitch and 17-18 Diameter.

6800-7200 rpm.

I believe the same engine tuner as Blue Lighting Marine?

At 6800-7200 rpm you better have a deep pocket...... you will get to know your engine rebuilder very well.

WOT, is what I'm wondering.

The big blocks with roller cams can generate some rpm,
I've seen 6400 for a while and still got 276hrs out of my 500HP's and it was never touched.

In my Scarab 38

Do know any history on this boat? Before DanL was killed we were going to race in P3 class. I worked on the boat so I know what it is now. Just want to know where it's been.

P3 class that would mean the boat runs up to 89 MPH

Last year was the first year with new power and trans. DanL was killed before we could test

We guessed P3, with the power and setup we knew it would do at least 80Mph.
