I received this today and thought I would share with all of you:

Lets Shop At Sears

I assume you have all seen the reports about how Sears is treating its reservist employees who are called up? By law, they are required to hold their jobs open and available, but nothing more. Usually, people take a big pay cut and lose benefits as a result of being called up...
Sears is voluntarily paying the difference in salaries and maintaining all benefits, including medical insurance and bonus programs, for all called up reservist employees for up to two years. I submit that Sears is an exemplary corporate citizen and should be recognized for its contribution.

I suggest we all shop at Sears, and be sure to find a manager to tell them why we are there so the company gets the positive reinforcement it well deserves.

Pass it on.

So I decided to check it out before I sent it forward. I sent the following email to the Sears Customer Service Department:

I received this email and I would like to know if it is true. If it is, the Internet may have just become one very good source of advertisement for your store. I know I would go out of my way to buy products from Sears instead of another store for a like item even if it was cheaper at the other store.

Here is their answer to my email......................

Dear Customer:

Thank you for contacting Sears.

The information is factual. We appreciate your positive feedback. Sears regards service to our country as one of greatest sacrifices our young men and women can make. We are happy to do our part to lessen the burden they bear at this time.

Please pass this on to all your friends, Sears needs to be recognized for this outstanding contribution and we need to show them as Americans, we do appreciate what they are doing for our military.

I will be in the market to purchase ALL new appliances ..Looks like a good way to spend my money.
I stopped buying my appliances from sears for one reason,

Delivery charges.

I was replacing an entire kitchen, Gas wall oven, gas cooktop, over the range microwave, dishwasher, and fridge, went there, picked out the appliances, and was ready to pay, when they asked when I wanted them delivered, I told them I would pick them up at the store, they said it was against their policy to bring them into the store for pickup. They tried to charge me approx $50 EACH for delivery. OK, now I pay you $250 for delivery, how about getting rid of the old, Try $50 each to remove the old!!!!! Sorry buddy, you just lost a $4000 sale!!!!

Took my business to the little guy, After buying the top of the line appliances, he threw in the microwave for $150($400 retail), deliverd for free(immediately from a local warehouse), and took the old ones away for free.

I ended up spending about $500 less, had them the next day, and at least I knew what brand they were(ever try to figure out who made a Sears Appliance???)

As far as everything else(especially tools) Sears is Great!!!! :D :D

Finally...A reason to buy that new Craftsmen Mechanice Toolbox have wanted :):)

Way to go Sears!!!

I will be doing my shopping there from now on

Sears will meet any deal on appliance delivery-including free del and pickup-just gotta ask. Remember all business must get as much for their product as possible to stay in the game-but most like Sears will meet or beat. Let you wife do the dealing next time-bet she gets free delivery.

I am sure if I pushed it, I coulda got it, but I would rather take it to the guy down the street that does it for everybody, not just the ones that bitch about it. i am sure Sears is buying them for a lot less than the private small shop, and charging more, plus trying to get delivery, and removal fees for it. i would not mind paying tham, I know, the truck needs gas, gotta pay the guys, BUT, I bought 5 appliances, and the jerk wanted to charge me 5 times for deliv, and 5 times for removal!!!! They are already there!!!!! One trip to the house, and one trip to the scrapyard!!!! Why charge 5 times. That is the "Policy"

I had an argument with a woman at a Large Furniture store that has outlets in Malls, one time about the same thing, She said it was against "Policy" to bring it to the store since they did not have room to store stuff. I assured her if she did it, I would be there within a few hours of it showing up in her store, she agreed, and I made well on my promise.

I can see Sears point, that they cannott stock all appliances in all stores, but they should be able to make exceptions, if they want to support Kitchen re-models, why do you think contractors do not shop there????? But you DO see them at LOWES buying appliance!!!!!! Heck, if you buy it at Lowes, and dont want to pay delivery, they will even rent ya the truck to get it home!!!!

I am not knocking Sears, I will buy anything else there, even Electronics, because they usually have it in stock. I just had a bad experience with them. I think it is great they are holding the jobs, and WILL be doing my Christmas Shopping there this year!!!!
