To me it looks kind of unkept in the picture. Scummy drives, dirty, doesn't shine like it should. And if it looks poor in the picture, it will really look bad in person. Pictues usually hide a lot of ills.
From what I have seen, a lot nicer boat can be bought for that many $, or a boat similar to this for less. Simply my opinion.

This is not a bad package in the mid 30's on a trailer..
Provided its in the great shape as stated
I don't think I'd consider paying more than $27K tops for this boat based on condition and the state of the used boat market... that's just my opinion.

I'd say it's a good buy in the $23-$25k range.

I think the boat is overpriced. Keep in mind it is an Excell not a Scarab. The speed may get a little better and keep in mind that his speeds are only as good as his skills. Aluminum props aren't helping his cause thats a given. I would seriuosly scope out the market before you jump on this!

Just my .02

I agree, if the boat was priced for $23, I wouldn't be typing right now. I would be writing a check. As for that 1983 Scarab.... Junk. I wouldn't buy something that old. I am obviously skeptical about buying a 1990. I am starting to think I should buy the 1995 .38 Special in Detriot. But now that's another 10K. He's asking $80K but he will probably take $70K. Maybe I should scap both the Scarab (sorry Excel) and the Aronow.

By the way, what's the difference between a Scarab and an Excel? I thought this boat was a Scarab Excel.

Scarabscoundrel....Dude I thought I'd give you some input on that Scarab Excel ...I know ALOT... BUT YOU CALLED MY BOAT ...JUNK!!!!!!!!! :angry1: W.T.F...!!!!!!! :eek1: YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN IT... Sorry, I didn't mean to call your boat junk. Sometimes I don't think, and that's not really what I meant. You gotta understand where I am coming from. My wife has a big decision in this. Our old boat was a 1997. It was difficult trying to convince her that a 1990 wasn't too old. In fact, my brothers boat is an 89 and if his was a 91 she probably wouldn't let me get anything older than 92. Totally foot in mouth. Sorry.
What do you mean you know this boat? What else can you tell me?
