Who does everyone use for high performance boating insurance..Im buying a 22ft donzi classic and Boat us quoted me $1500 a year because of the hp..415..Is there any companies with lower rates and better coverage?

Houston, Tx

I use Boats US. They beat other places I checked with. My Liberator is only 340 HP though. You can get a quote right from their web site.

I have a 1995 Welcraft 23 Nova with about 500 hp. I'm with State Farm. The agent asked for the CI and horse power but never asked about how fast the boat goes. Paying about $450.00 per year. I had our agent insure the boat and trailer for $27K.

We have a much shorter boating season than Tx and I'm sure that would make a difference. Also, if your boat is new and or more valuable that would probably make the premium higher as well. Shop around. It's a pain in the azz but no choice. Good luck!!

I have N.B.O.A.I had National Marine Underwriters and those *$$holes went up 60% on me with no reason. I'm sure it was just a weed out of the smaller policies, but they never say that. I looked all over the place, and NBOA came in the lowest and easiest to deal with. Sometimes, the age is a factor as well, at least for me.

I've got Progressive on my 288 with the 496HO and they charge me $820 per year with no restrictions as to when and where I boat on the east coast and Ohio/Kentucky waters. I beleive their website says none in excess of 75mph....
