This should bring a halt to anyone wondering what the fastest NHRA Super Stock car was. Not the Cobra's, Ford, Chevy, GTO, Chevelle, etc.. Not even my 1968 HEMI Crossram Roadrunner! Same engine, but just a bit heavier. However, mine runs in the low 10's too for being 95% original!

But all in all, it's hats off to the 1968 Crossram Hemi Dart... Nothing, and I mean nothing, has ever beaten this car to date in the Superstock Class. It's in the books, archives, our memories, and so on and so forth...

May the power of the HEMI be with you all...

Here's a link for you guys to verify...

Yeah, well people told me that the back seat of a 65 Mustang was non functional, but I'm here to tell you they are wrong!
He,he,he.....I'm in the same club. ;)
Was yours a coupe of fastback?
The coupe had more headroom, the fastback was tight and made for a "cozy" experience. But then my rear seat folded flat. :D :D :D

WARCAT, I have no doubt that a Hemi Dart will fly. But I believe we're looking at the muscle-cars that were readily available off the showroom floor and not a purpose built race car. Even if it was "factory" built.
I'm not saying it isn't an awsome car, which it truely is. I bet it'll toss your brains to the back window in first gear. :vcol:

Here is the first car I ever did over 100 mph with. It was a 64 Coutry Squire that dad had special ordered from the factory with the 390 4 barrel. It even said Thunderbird on the valve covers.

This picture was just before it's last run. We had talked mom into letting us have it for a demolition derby. Before the smashing part, we had to run six laps on a quarter mile circle track to qualify. It went from starting at the very back to finishing second in the roundy round. Not bad for that big ol heavy car on a track that's nothing but turn. :)

Check out the "advertising" on the side. A1 Stud Service! Kid Rock just thought he was cocky! :D

My favorite???

All of them, can't seem to get enough. They had more style. It's a good thing I was only 5 years old in 1970.
I would have never been able to choose just one.

Anyway Chevelles are my favorite 1970 in particular. I would own every 1970 muscle car made if I could afford it :D
Seems to be someone else's favorite also. Check out the going price for this unrestored 1970 LS6 Chevelle convertible :eek3:

He's out of his freakn' mind. It looks to be a rust bucket. Really needs to be restored. But not at that price.
Here's one from Trader Online. It too is unrestored, it isn't a rag top, but it is far better shape for far less money.

'71 Chevelle LS6

Iggy thats a 1970 also.

The current price of $76,351.00 for the one on E-Bay is because only like eight LS6 convertibles were built in 1970. The $76,351.00 is not what he is asking thats the actual price its going for RIGHT NOW... :confused1

D'OH! :xz

I knew it was a '70, guess I had '71 on the brain.
Either way it's still a hell of a lot of money.

That is just flippin NUTS!!!!

I wouldnt pay more than $20,000 for any Chevelle, I dont care how rare it is, IT IS A CAR!!!!!!

Get Over it!!!!

I would rather take a $2500 71 malibu, sink about 5K in the body, a few $$$$ in the interior, and a Buttload of coin in the drivetrain, and have more fun, and look a hell of a lot better than the guy drivin the Original, unrestored 1 of 8 ever made rustbuckets!!!!!

The guy that found that thing in the barn(notice it hasnt been registered in over 10 years) is lovin it, and I dont Blame him. What I am saying is the guy buyin it is an IDIOT, unless he knows the value is going to go up a LOT MORE. By the time he buys that, and pays someone to do a Concourse Resto on that car, he is going to be in it for well over 100K, No thanks not for a Chevelle, not even from me!!!!
