Nothing wrong with outboards!!!!

I may be heading there, and I will never be towed again!!!

Think about that, a 24 Pantera with twin 200's

A New merc 200 will cost you close to $10,000 just for the motor, so lets say $10,000 each including rigging, and controls, OK???

Times 2=$20,000

Then add about $1000 for the trailer=$21,000

Then you talk the guy down to $23,000

You just bought a 24 Pantera Hull, and interior for $2,000

Considering it is in decent shape with relatively low hours on the Outboards, you cant lose!!!

Now if I only had the down payment :D :D :D

Rick,

What speed do you think that 28 would achieve?
Well,

lets look at this logically, Tims boat does 78 with 830HP(2x415), BUT those big blocks are heavy, and can only spin up to 5050RPM or so :D :D Plus full interior.

I would say you are losing QUITE a bit of weight off of the boat with the 3 man bolsters, ad doesnt say if it has a full cabin, but with that setup, I doubt it, and the outboards are MUCH lighter than Big Blocks with Bravo Drives, and can spin higher RPM.

SO, with all that said, my guess would be around the same speed as Tim's Boat, somewhere between 75-80. Fast enough for me!!!!!! :D :D

Can't help but envy you living down there. It snowed 6" here on Tuesday.
YES, it is VERY NICE down here, But also remember, our boats get hammered in this Sun, and all the Salt Water, My next boat purchase is going to be done as far away from SALT as possible!!!

Here is a pic outside my office one day last week :D :D 80* sunny, low humidity right now :D :D

OH, and whoever started this thread, sorry for Hijacking it

The 24 Pantera will be a heck of a lot better for you than either of the Donzi's. Stick with plan "A". :D

Brian
Obviously you have never met Jen :D :D :D

She has this fear of things with Green Eyes!!!

if you ever meet her, ask her about the weekend in Key West :laugher: :laugher:

I will most likely be in "Plan A", but was weighing the alternatives :D :D

You Florida guys have it made!

Here's a pic taken Monday morning

By the way, I think whoever listed that 20 is not familiar with the Cigarette boat line. The Firefox was always a 24 foot boat. The 20 footer was called the Son of a Gun.

I have been drooling over one for several years now!

Did you ever check out the 20 Cig on the Lip-Ship site?

Hey Biggus,
Your in Naples with a 38 Gun? WOW...that's a lot of boat for that area. I'm stuck even farther north in Presque Isle. I've thought about spending some time in Naples (love the area) this summer but my little Stingray just wouldn't fit in. I assume your on Sebago with that thing. Sweet ride.

Well,

I wouldnt go that far!!!

Florida is beutiful, in a "Different" way.

My Parents grew up in Caribou, and Eagle lake Maine, and I have visited there many times as a kid, I havent been back for many years, since my grandparents passed away. I grew up in CT, and New England is absolutely beautiful. I still have a few relatives in Maine, and some in CT, but most of the Family has been dispersed between Florida, and Georgia. My dad is down here, and he is my closest family member, he had heart surgery a few years ago, and I spent some time here over the Holidays, and fell in love with the winter weather in FL, then went back home to 2 feet of snow in my driveway   I decided at that point that it was time to move, not to my dads town, but to Fort Lauderdale, simply due to the job market. I dont regret moving here for a minute, but I take trips home during the summer, and fall back in love with the lake surrounded by the mountains, and again in the fall, just in time to see the leaves turning. We rub it in sometimes how nice the weather is, but we have other things to deal with here, Traffic, Blue hairs, crime, etc.

Someones signature on here summed it all up.......

South Florida......

A sunny place for Shady people!!!!!! :D :D :D
