I was reading Power Boat magazine and saw an ad for a boat with the brand name of "Cheetah". Has anyone heard of this boat before, does anyone have one? They have a good price on their 29 footer and I am considering this line. Any feedback is appreciated...

Cheetah boats

I posted the threat a few weeks back and then could not find it. I was out of town for a few weeks.

I have the web site but was looking for someone to tell me about the boats who has actaully seen one or owns one or knows someone who has one.

They are pricing their new 29 footer with 496 mag HO at $59!

They are built in Havasu. Go to Hotboat.net. There are a few threads regarding this builder. From what I have seen at the shows, they are a bargain based "custom" boat. Rigging, build quality etc. are not up to level of other builders. You get what you pay for.

Unfortunately that is most likely the truth, don't we wish we could get a new 29 foot quality boat for 60k. Yes but its not likely to occur

Cheap boat price

I noticed the price on their 29 footer right away. Like you said, finding an average 29' for under 60K is not very likely. I was looking for someone that has actually seen and had a close look at this boat line to back up the statements about the quality of the rigging and build.

Still looking for someone who has seen one up close...

Go to HotBoat.net

and find Dog House. He use to own a Cheetah and he will give you the straight scoop on what to expect. He currently owns a Magic Cat. PM him, he will be straight up with his opinion and not gloss it.

You really do get what you pay for. One of my buddies purchased their 29 footer, due to the fact that his wife didn't want to spend alot of money on a boat. I won't list all the little things that weren't right or that needed to be fixed. Needless to say that before the summer season was over he put the boat up for sale! Now he's the owner of a brand new 29ft. Howard.
