Hey Jay,

How about this.........

We Boat on Mine every other weekend, and on the off weekends, I help you finish the Baja??

When they are both done we can both anchor in Lake Boca, or Peanut Island with "For Sale" vinyl on the side, it'll be like a mobile used boat lot :laugher: :laugher: :laugher:

You May invest a few $$$ more in an already upside down situation getting it on the water, but thats no different than the $$$ you are going to lose on depreciation of the Sonic in that time period, or Premium you will pay to have it now versus waiting for the right deal???

Dead set on getting a new boat yes, But im waiting for the right deal to come along. Something affordable, well maintained and perty!

(Why im kickin myself for not buying war party when I had the chance)
Then this would not even be in discussion.
Im weighing my options here is all.
I dont want to run the baja cause im scared 30 other things will break on it when I run it and ill be back to shoveling money into it to get it running again in order to sell it.
Look everyone has a breaking point, Im about a year past mine in this baja.
Its a good boat but Im TIRED of shovling TONS of money into it every week to get it to go on the water for a day, then have it parked for 2-3 weekends and come back and see Oh this seized up while it was sitting, this is loose, this is rusted and needs to be replaced, this is dry rotted ect.
I got to that point a while ago, I went crazy ripping everything that had flaking paint, rust, did not look NEW out and tossed it all in the garbage.
The whole Silent choice system on the baja , diverters, wishbone pipes, connectors, air pump everything RIGHT IN THE TRASH, Water pumps, trash, intakes and carbs trash, heads off both engines, Trash, Entire exhaust systems on both engines TRASH everything was trashed and replaced. and Im still coming across things that need to be trashed and replaced.
I just WANT OUT OF THE DAMN THING.
As soon as the dash, steering, trim rams, oil resorvoirs, everything that is wrong with it now is replaced, THEN i can just easily trade it in, Blah blah good bye, see ya, cianara, Hasta Lavista baby
LATER>
Problem SOLVED.
THAT is why I want out of it so bad.
Easier to trade it in.
J

OK, I know where your at, Believe me, I am at this breaking point too, But thats just boating, the main reason why I caution you to triples.

I just had a thought, if it made it easier, when my boat is done in a few weeks, we can haul mine up to your storage lot(so long as you continue to pay for the spot, heck, it might even be cheaper if they'll cut it down for the time mine is there), and haul your Baja to my house. Then you have access to water, electricity, tools, and all that.

Ole Yeller is still in Pinellas at the old house. I want to leave it there so I can take it to the races in St Pete. :)

That might be a good idea.
Have to think about that, as far as squeezing it between your house and your neighbors, are they cool with that?
Will Jen have a fit?
When we fire it up, Jen will have a major fit, Its louder than you and Tim think it is.
You keep saying its not loud, Dude it is.
Dry exhaust is dry exhaust.
She is as loud as HP500 EFI's with headers and probably even louder than them due to the SICK cams in it.
But if you want it there, Ill park it there, no problem.
Then we can finish it up fast and get ready to trade it, thats all im looking for.
20 grand trade, Buh BUYEEEEEEEEE
brand B
J

It will fit width, heck, mine has over an 8 foot beam, yours CANT be more than 8'6". Length will be close, but we'll get it in there.

Firing it up will have to be done on the weekends only, and done with discretion, Maybe pull it out from between the houses, kinda echoes in there.

How many times do I have to tell you, Jen is not on the mortgage, She cant say chit(although she probably will try), its MY HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally, I would get it done, and AT LEAST take it for a ride down the ICW, heck its not far from the ramp to Lake Boca, and hang on the chain for a bit. You could even buy the permit to launch at Palmetto, and thats straight out from my house, and right AT Lake Boca!!!!

Just spend the $100 on Sea Tow, just in case, or I will go along, to tow you back to the ramp(that would make a funny picture :laugher: :laugher: )

Another reason why i dont want to launch it, getting towed with a twin boat means you blew up 2 engines.
I think Ill just fire it up on the trailer and that will be that.
the 21 p props wont work either. Believe me I have tried.
The 25's were not enough, kept blowing them out like they were nothing either.
Need 4 blade 27-28 p props to bite the water with this Azz heavy boat.
Not in my best interest to invest another grand in props on it either.
I did see Mindi has a whole wall full of props.
If anything I could get a used set from her to try out but I dont want to invest in it. Rather buy props for new beast than old beast.
we will talk about this more later, I do appreciate the offer.
J

It dont take no stinkin' props to get between the red x's, it is maybe a mile, if that.

Heck its all No-Wake, BUT it is Free advertising if you wanna get it out there. Just a thought.

Tow, theres hundreds of boats in lake Boca on the chain every weekend, if you break something, they'll give you a tug across the channel to the ramp. Anyway, thats what I'll be doing, if you and Julie wanna ride along, or bring the Baja out, your welcome.

One more problem my storage area is dead storage, not to be moved once it is in there.
But Im sure I can figure something out or have these guys move it to a spot that I can yank it out of there.
That problem can be overcome.
But the twin boat from texas with the twin HP500's with headers they want an offer.
I think I want to hear about the one with prochargers first and then weigh my options.
Rick we will speak tonight.
Also tomorrow after work I have to drop off my rocker switch panel at sonic for Mindi to make me a new one.
Your mom coming tomorrow night or want to stop and get a beer after work somewhere?

Before the baja I was running around in a 1969 Stephens Drag boat with a 454 called black jack, straight V drive.
Scariest damn thing you ever been on.
Before that I was cruising around in my first boat, a 1985 bayliner that my father bought new and I drove for YEARS beating the snot out of it.

What does insurance and storage cost in Florida? I think it's getting out of hand up here where we boat for only 3-4 months. Seems like my friend w/ a large older cig pays at least a couple thousand for insurance and they require him to keep it in a locked storage unit which is fairly hefty also.

We have a 1991 38 Top Gun with 525SC. $2k a year. (Perfect driving record)
Got a qoute on a 2000 Top Gun T/S with 500HP and it was $3,500.

For storage, a friend of mine has a 42' Tiger and he stores it at Marina One which is in Boca Raton. $850 per month.

LS - holy chit on the storage. $10,200 to store the friggen boat for a year!!!!! No wonder all you guys want or have a place on the water. I bet you can borrow about 175k for 30 years at today's rates for $10,200/year.

Ill keep my boat on the trailer and store it somewhere that I can come and go as I please.
As far as insurance, Rule of thumb in most cases is 2 percent of the purchase price of the boat is the yearly premium give or take a few bucks.

My new car insurance company and compared it with another place for the baja and I came up with 850 a year at 50 grand coverage so that is about right.
Sonic might run me 1700-1800 ish a year, no problem. Im cool with that. Ill probably pay it up front and not worry about it until next year.
as far as 850 a month, Palm beach yacht center charges 11 per foot, 10 for a yearly contract, so whoever your buddy is with the tiger, he is getting robbed blind.
and Palm beach yacht center is a nice place. Indoor storage and they have those monster fork lifts.
God those guys at this marina one, are reaching up your buddies colon and massaging his brain.
Thats crazy.
I do trailer storage, WAY WAY WAY cheaper. Im paying 100 a month now for the baja.
