Who's in for Clevelands Eastside Poker Run?

I would like to sign up, but I am not doing it alone.
Wildthink Taz on OSO says they need to order shirts in a week, and holding of rooms at the Comfort Inn will be released the week before.

http://www.h2oplay.com/

Fill out and send in your registration form and $250 soon. Maybe some of us could try and meet up there together.

I'm kinda in the same boat as you, Dave (metaphorically of course). Funds are tight, and getting tighter. That's why I will be doing a lot of beach work this weekend. But, 40% of the reason I bought a "go-fast" is to do poker runs. I always told my wife, "after we buy a Baja, we are hitting the Cleveland Poker Run, for sure, nothing is going to stop me." After we bought the boat, I went to the web site to sign up, that's when I found out the registration fee was $1500. That was the only think capable of stopping me, and it did a good job.
Moral of the story, I am going on a poker run this year, so Eastside is the one.

By the way, how does it work.
I know we show up on the 24th, but when?
The what? Do we cruise up and down the river for 3 hours :laugher:
There is no info on the web site, pick-up points? Duration? Transient dockage? This will be my first, and I want to know what to expect.
Trying to figure out if the wife can handle it too?

I called one of the members to get the juicy details. July 24th is the Poker Run. Friday night (the 23rd) they gather in the Chagrin River at The Deck for a pre-party (I think they expect it to be a smaller group). Saturday morning 'till Sunday morning is the actual poker run.
They start in Fairport Harbor, run to Mentor, then the Rock -N-Roll hall, then to Lakeside Yach Club in Cleveland for a free Lunch (compliments fo National Marine).
Then fire up again and head over to Rocky River, and wind up in Eastlake for an all night party at Pacers.
I haven't registered yet, but I plan to.
The cost is $250 for 4 people, and $40 for each additional person. That gets you a T-Shirt, free lunch, a Stake dinner and a bunch of door prizes. They said that can't guarantee a T-Shirt for the additional guests. 1st place is something like $7500 ($3000 in cash and a high-perf outdrive), second is somethink like $1500, third is $800 and fourth is $500 (depending on the number of participants). They have sponsors that give away exhaust systems, radios, TV's, electronics, etc. They expect 60 - 70 boats this year.
I was originally planning on 6 people in my boat. Now I am thinking it might be best to have only 4 for comfort reasons. Still tossing that around.
They don't require a pre-registration, but they might have a T-Shirt problem and a sponsor problem if they don't get enough pre-registered people. I prefer to pre-pay that way I don't spend as much money on the day of the event.
Hope to see some familiar faces and boats up there.
Dave, come on, I know you can find a few people to help foot the bill :winker:

Frank812,
That the Cleveland High Stakes poker run... $1200 entry fee. Goes from Lakeside Marina to Lakewood, to Cedar Point, to Put-In-Bay, and back to Cleveland. That one is this Saturday, the 10th, offical start is at 10 AM.
They stay in Cedar Point for gas and food, the leave there at 2:30, so they will be cruising out of put-in-bay about 45 minutes later.
You should look into the East Side Lower Level poker run... goes from Fairport Harbor, to Mentor, to Cleveland to Rocky River, then land in Eastlake.

High Stakes got me going... want to get on the East Side poker run. Talked to the owner of Wild Thing on Saturday. He had problems... let's just say he is probably swapping one of his motors as we speak.
I am trying to make the East Side poker run if I can get replacement parts for my broken Tie Bar.

CRMax, you still considering it?

Causin Trouble Again, I still haven't seen your boat at the Yacht Club. Are you going to be able to make the run?

Tomorrow morning.... gonna turn some heads!!!! :dead:

Tonight, I will be at the Deck in the Chagrin River for the "pre-party", if I can find it. Does anyone know where that is?

Is anyone else gonna join me for a few brewskys tonight?

My boat should be all ready to go for tomorrow, except for fuel.

Well, I met a bunch of the East Side LLBC members last night at The Deck Lounge. They are a nice group of guys, but they couldn't resist harassing me after I told them that thewife and I were backing out.
Our original excuse was the water conditions, but we had other motives.
We actually had a hard time finding people to hang with us. 2 of my friends had backed out on us, and we are running tight on our funds.
All these things put together tells me to wait for a better day. Guess we'll try to plan the August 21st run from Port Clinton to Toledo.
I am already regretting that we backed out.
