Karen and I went away this weekend. We were planning on heading about 110 miles down the bay to Solomons Island for the closing of a great bar, but miserable conditions on Saturday changed our minds and we went to the historic town of Saint Michaels.

It was windy, cold and damp the entire weekend but some good Jamaican Rum warmed my tummy and spirits....

here's some shots..

Ps: the water was like a sheet of glass on the bay today...

This is us leaving Saint Michaels this morning:

Kent Island is about 15 miles north of Saint Michaels and we go under a bridge there and then through Kent Island Narrows. Kent Island is home to the bay's Famous Red Eye's Dock Bar.

This is the approach to the bridge...

It must hurt to put the new toy away for the winter.:( It looks like Karen is dressed for snowmobiling. If you get cabin fever, put the TG on that new trailer and head down this way.:)

BTW, isn't it a bit dangerous to have someone on the bow while underway?

I'm sure you have winter projects planned for the boat.

Here is the proper boating attire for October down here.:) This pic is from Saturday.

Grasshopper....Captain Jeff would never ask anyone to climb out on my well-waxed deck while underway....not even Skaternater..... :)

Karen opened one of the hatches and popped up to take my picture....

:)

Ah, I should have know better!:) I belive I would have allowed Skaternator on the deck. I was thinking of asking him to go deer hunting with me, but I'd make him wear antlers, hunting accidents do happen you know!;)

Cuda: you know we boat in mostly fresh water....

However, if we boated in salt in the Atlantic Ocean where sharks abound i'd invite Mr. Brand S onto the deck in some big rollers to let my props cuisinart him into some very distasteful chum....

...sharks would probably spit him out.....

Just made my last trip Sat. from Bolles Harbour Mich to Put-In-Bay Ohio. Temp low 70s a gray day waves 1 foot or less. Got to love the off season dockage prices. Had pizza and a few drinks and headed home. My son took the wheel on the way back. Poured in the stablizer and filled up the tank just before backing the boat into the drive. Woke up today to 31 degree temp. After work today the antifreeze goes in.
