I have the stock Merc pulleys and plan to keep it that way. The boat is fast enough. (did I just say that? )

The 575's run 5lbs of boost stock. If your only getting 3.5lbs call Merc racing and complain, they will change out the top end

The intercooler upgrade alone is a significant enhancement for engine longitivity especially in high humidity environments. You can change over the pulley combination easily from 5 all the way to 9lbs. The fav seems to be 7lbs. The real potential issue is with the head gasket life and the vanes in the Merc uppers. Adding boost does liven those puppies up though :D

Ok now guys let's play nice..... :laugher: :laugher: I have a pair of these (575SCI's) sitting in my shop that I took out of my boat and they are sweet engines. Mine had about 80 hours on em when I pulled em out and never a problem with em. They are very mild when it comes to blower motors. I say go for it you will love em. Plus they look way cool under the hatch :D

Had no complaints with the one in my 28 Pantera. Dustin makes a slighly smaller pully and a remap for a few hundred dollars that got 4mph more out of my old boat.

The whipple intercooler does add about 1 inch to the height of the engine and so it would not fit.
