I'd like to know who you've used in the past (or present) for your website design and maintenance.

It would be great if someone here was into that gig! (and I'm SURE there must be)

I'm happy with my current website but getting my current web developer to make changes has become impossible. :angry1:

Many thanks in advance!

I have a huge list of mods I need done and also many new products/ pictures to launch.

Geez, CFM, I hope you're wrong on the "developers are hard to work with" thing. I thought I just had some bad experiences

If it was something I thought I could find time to do myself I'd be all over it. (not to mention the time required in 'learning the trade') This might be the ultimate solution since I do plan on updating on a regular basis.

Any/all help/info is welcome! :D

Oh yeah....I wanted to let you know that I will be an owner of your tabs very soon. Dominator Scott was gracious enough to sell me his black ones now that he has your new shiny bling tabs. I just need to hook up with him to get them on the boat. I am sure he will post pictures soon. I will have to do some before/after shots myself :)

Martini - if cfm does not take the gig - I can help you out. Let me know. I have a friend that has done some sites on the side and is now unemployed so he is looking to concentrate more on websites.
No - it would be like trying to take on another parts project right now :dead: :dead: :dead: :dead:

I just say that because of all I ran into. i ended up having to do it mostly myself and I'm sure our website shows that. :dead: :dead:

It works real well but I'm sure we are missing a lot because of that.

I learned website building as a crash course and use Microsoft programs / website hosts to kind of pull it all together.

There are so many developers and so many 'mickey mouse' developers that I think it's much harder to get a good one than a bad one.

The good one's I talked too and interviewed would have put me out of business in no time - READ $$$$$

martiniboat,

CFM is right (in a way). A good web developer is very dificult to find, buy only if you want to pay the price of a bad developer. I am a web developer, and I could probably help you. I will warn you that I am not cheap, but I can offer you a myrid of advantages that will make your head spin. I have customizable packages that I offer at more affordable prices, and I also have fully custom enterprise options available.

I don't do a tremendous amount of side work because I don't want to be caught up more maintenance than I can support. But if you are interrested, PM me and let me know what you are looking for.

I sell CMS solutions. That means you can create and maintain your own website no matter what your skill level.

I'll give you a 30 days free trial.

as a side note, programmers/developers are notoriously difficult to work with. Its part of our charm :D

I'd offer to help you out, but I'm in the middle of some things myself and still trying to get my condo to rights. I'm at the point right now that I don't want to look at a computer screen when I get home from work. I need a vacation :(

Exactly. I'm getting tired of coding these days. I took this job because I'd get a chance to get out of the office and go to our clients. It wasn't supposed to be strictly coding, but it is turning into that more and more these days. Oddly enough, I'm pretty social and all this time spent looking at code is starting to get to me.

I guess you proved that :laugher: :laugher: :laugher: :laugher: :laugher: :laugher: :laugher: :laugher: :laugher:

:D

I'm fairly social for a programmer. Everyone always looks shocked when I tell them that I write code for a living. Apparently you're supposed to be a grungy, pizza eating male and not a blonde female to be a decent programmer

Thanks, all you guys and gals!

Jakewood- Way to go man! Scott told me about the transaction and I was glad to hear they went to another member. If you have any questions/concerns re: installation, don't hesitate to call, it's really a simple swap!

I'll digest the info I've received so far and while doing so will take 38KV up on his 30-day trial software offer. Knowledge is power, maybe the time is right to start doing my own website. :D

Thanks again everyone, keep it coming...

Martini, the new tabs are BAD A$$ buddy. They don't do
anything that the old tabs wouldn't except raise up the
BLING,BLING factor considerably.
Jakewood and I are planning to get together this weekend to install his and he suggested bringing the
camera for pics. So we will be posting soon. :D :D :D

Hey there m'man, I see you just broke 1000 posts, congrats!

Nice to see a forum member get your 'old' Victorys.

I can't wait to see the contrast of the polished stainless tabs against an all-black transom. Get some good shots and I'll be sure to put them on my website...

...when I find that perfect web developer. ;) :D

Check out my site.

The girl that did this site was great and the price was great compared to others that I quoted.

Portland Shelton 276-666-9209

PM me and I will be glad to give you the price she charge for my site.

I would also be interested in any comments about my site.
That is a nice site... very clean and easy to follow. If an entry level user goes to your site, he/she is not likely to wonder how to view the "Face Plates", or the "Castings". Very nice, precise, clean nad easy to use. I like that in a web site.

I think Martini is looking for more interaction. He wants to sell his products online, he wants to add and remove products, change prices, post promotions, and keep a histor of his customers. He may want to have a calendar of events, or a monthly newsletter, or tool tips, maybe even his own discussion forum. But the key is that he wants to be able to do all of this without interacting with the developer, and without taking web development classes. It should be easy, and simple to maintain.

Martini only wants to talk to the developer if there is a problem with the site, or if he wants to make a dramatic upgrade.
