ITS ALL IN HOW YOU TREAT THE DRIVES
NO HOLE SHOTS----
EASE INTO THE POWER
NO MID RANGE BANGS NO MATTER HOW FAR BEHIND YOU ARE!

EASE THE THROTTLE STRAIGHT THROUGH!

LAST BOAT WAS A 350 +- HP SB WITH AN ALPHA.
I RAN A CUT DOWN 25" PROP MIRAGE
A 23 MIRAGE PLUS
AND A 23 CLEAVER

19" MIRAGE PLUSE FOR SKING!
IT WAS PROBRALY THE FUNNEST BOAT I HAVE EVER RAN !

IT WAS LIKE A JETSKI ON STEROIDS!

The twin turbo engine I am selling was in a 20' boat with the older OMC drive Which was rated less than the Alpha, and I never had a drive failier after 6 seasons..If your interested Underdog88, send me a PM, and I'll give you all the info. I'm not asking an Arm and a leg for her niether!!!

1. Turbos are exhaust powered. In vehicles they get very hot...too hot for an enclosed boat bilge. Never seen a water jacketed turbo.

Walk in to your nearest Volvo dealer....they have them In store...for example one that is a number bigger (KKK-27) than used in the 80´s 911 Porsche Turbo KKK-26 is water cooled...I have hold one brand new in my hands...
Two of those will feed a 502 no problem.
2. Also never seen a "wet" turbo with water going thru the exhaust path.
No need to run it thru...and would be dangerous too...and stupid..
The Turbine impeller might run up to 200000 rpms and a droplet of water would turn it into a grenade...

Get a water cooled turbine housing and an oil/water cooled center section and your temps are as low as any.
(All manufacturers have them)

3. In a marine environment a blower is just plain simpler :D
Quite the opposite I´d say...Blowers are hard on the engines crank (takes about 70hp to turn one when in boost...)
Turbos 0 hp. so for any 14.7psi of boost you get more than 2Xengine size because of no friction to mention of....

I´m into turbos myself....they quiet down the engine a bit and as pictured are simple to mount.
To get them run good you can use carbs on a boat because of steady rpm´s compared to cars.

Well don´t have to go even that far....even the 7.3 Mercruiser Diesel (Ford/International powerstroke) V8 has a heat wrap around its turbine housing BUT the turbine housing isn´t water cooled as Volvo has.
And looking at those pics it´s not celar if those are or not.
Nice engines if you like pink....

PS. the guy looks like an 70/80´s pornstar ... :dead:

this pic is a set up that i put together myself. I hav absolutely no engine building experience. i was a trial and error mechanic. i dropped almost 8 gs to a fellow who built me a 461 anchor!

but here is a pic-i was able to break 80 with it-g rigged together, the fellow who screwed me over still has my carburator and enclosed box that the turbos ran into.
this pic is my aftyer thought of my self trying to set it up like a procharger. i wasnt about to drop more money than i did. Thats why i went stock.
Honestly though if the twin turbo still ran i loved it.
low compression i ran 87 octane, quite rumble and sounded like a turbine a 5500 rpms!
