U really dont feel the full effect of it behind 1/4 canopies. They do a great job of blocking the wind. Not until you look over the side or behind you, you dont realize how much ground, or water, you're actually covering.Grand Theft said:
Although Im told w/out the canopies you wouldnt be able to breath at those speeds. Thats why a lot of 1/4 canopied boats (non wrap-around windshield) dont have a center seat in the rear row. THats what Ive been told anyway...

Guess the reason I would be scared is not cause I couldn't see or breath, it would be the fear of blowing over. At those speeds the force from wind way outweighs the actual mass of the boat. If you nosed up from a wave, its over...... at least my common sense says so... I know the hydro's have taken a step to control this with a canard wing.. I'm sure the design of the boat aids in stern lift to keep it from going over it "normal" conditions.. Ever notice that wing-looking back end of an MTI or how a newer Skater looks like the wing of an airplane.. It all creates the right amount of lift in the right places..
Anyhow, I've been told from people with lots of exp w/ cats say, "As soon as you feel you're about to blow over, its too late."
