Yeah, be glad you have the Diesel.
Too bad the truck has been abuse by pulling that big off shore boat in the pic... shame.

NADA is full of Schiz. You need to get hold of a black book... auction book...

I traded my '00 GMC crew dually 4x4 a few months ago.
NADA said TRADE in of near 20k for it. One dealer offered 10k for it. Best deal I got was 14,500.

It depends on how bad you need to sell. Try running an ad for $26k and see how it goes...

Do you have a Car Max dealer near you? They will eveluate and make you an offer on it. You don't have to take the deal... but it'll give you a good indicator of what to expect.

You must be selling to buy a Chevy.... ;)

I take a look at ebay and see what they're selling for their... best person-to-person estimates and if you think there are a lot of people that don't know about ebay.... well I sold my F250 on ebay to a guy that lives 45 miles away - and he was 72 years old...

For what it is worth.I am a dealer.I looked your truck up on Manheim.Manheim is the countries largest dealer auction house.
A 49k mile above average truck sold for 22200
A 70k mile one sold for 21600

as you know us dealer are going to mark that truck up just a little.
:D

I hope that helps a little.

I sold my 2002 XLT Crew Cab Short bed 4X4 PowerStroke with 42000 miles, 2 months ago for $25000. It had new tires and was in pretty darn nice shape. I wanted to sell it quick, so it went to a wholesaler. He said he would make a quick $500-1000 on it.
I bought a brand-new Silverado 5.3. I jumped on the band wagon while GM is giving huge discounts on their new trucks. I got it for over $11000 off sticker. I got a $31,300 truck for $20,000 even.
Yes, got rid of the diesel......Payments are cheaper, insurance is cheaper and fuel is cheaper. This Chevy gets more mpg than the PSD too. Of course towing isn`t anywhere near the same, but I`m about to buy a home at the lake, so that is now a non-issue.
Here in Texas, you have a $21000 truck. It would sell here fast.
GOOD LUCK!

DonMon.........you bought a GAS!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????? Granted, you got an awesome deal on the Chev.....but.....you bought a GAS!!!!!!!!????????

Only ribbing ya man. I guess if you really don't NEED it, it is a good move. I don't have a boat that I NEED a diesel, but I do feel better having it for long trips. I also have a box trailer, that granted weighs only 8,000# but I pulled it 700 miles with a 5.3 silverado and burned a quart of oil on that trip, I was nervous :freak: It is like pulling a straight up and down brick wall through the wind and it DOES make a difference. So, my feeling was I need a diesel if I am going to do a lot of towing. I have the 6.0L Stroke and I LOVE it. Crew, Short, Lariat, 4x4.

Also, I have aspirations of buying a bigger boat and I don't want to have to worry about my tow vehicle before I can do so.

I disagree, the 4 door short box 4x4 PSD is a little rarer than the extended cab and really hold their value. I think you will get very close to that.
i agree.

i have been looking for a 4dr PSD for quite some time now and i can't touch them...even used. check out autotrader.com to get a good idea what they are going for. i think you'll find that your truck at 27K will be one of the cheaper ones. most that i see are still asking 30K or more.

I was working on a deal for a 05 F350 psd 4x4 crew right up to the point where they said the would give me $13,500 for my 01 Crew psd 4x4 longbed. The wholesale trade in was about $18K but there condesending comment to me was the guys who come up with those published figure don't write checks  My comment to them was neither do I today.

I sold our olf Ford to a guy off Ebay 3 years ago, he was'nt a bidder just an interested buyer that lived 5 hours away....Ebay is a great place to get a median price for your truck.

I have a 4 door dually Duramax that I want to sell, book says $22k Carmax offered $15k and dealers are offering$10k-$13k...I ran an ad in the local paper and got zero responses, I think Truck Trader is going to be my next avenue to try.

I am not sure what to ask now... Will definately not ask 27k...

I want to replace it with a dually I think. I definaltely need a crew tho.

I did chat with one dealer and they offered me 24k on a trade in for a used PSD.

And you cant put an extended cab in the same category as a crew...absolutely no value comparison possible. Except much more$$$

Its probably more hassle to sell it, maybe some 18's might make me like it more! lol. I bought it 4 years ago with 52k... I only put about 60 miles a week avg on my trucks. Would love to just park it for teh winters
