I own a fill transfer station just outside of NYC. We accept broken concrete, dirt, brick, asphalt, sand, etc, etc. We screen out all of the dirt and crush everything else. Then we sell the product back to the customers to use as topsoil, backfill, or base material. We operate on about two acres and move roughly 5,000 cubic yards a day through our facility while abiding by all ridiculous city and state rules imposed many years after my grandfather started this buisness. It gets more and more stressful everyday.... :angry1: But I do enjoy coming to work everyday... :) . I will post some pics of the operation later today.

what kind of work did you do on the cnc?
I worked for two mfg's of monumental architectural casework...basically industrial and institutional wood working. I designed reception desks, store displays, large judges benches...basically anything custom for new construction or remodeling. I did the CAD work then created programs for a KOMO VR408 CNC router and a ANDI Exxact Duo CNC router with twin tables and twin 18hp spindles. Both machines had FANUC controlers ( 0 and 16m ) The ANDI was made somewhere in Asia I think....but it was a big heavy pig. Awesome machine. I cut all the parts from the internal structure to hardwood, laminates, solid surfaces ( corian..etc ).... I also did a good deal of speaker cabinet design and MFG. Did some aluminum and composit machining too. The fun part of the CNC work was surface modeling and machining.....I tried to make a few guitar bodies with all of the contours....but it took HOURS AND HOURS of machine time and my boss didn't like that. I made more stuff for my home than for work some days. :)

I do marketing and dealer support in FL.
Lots of travel, but I'm on the water 3+ days/week.

I also get involved in the production of our TV propaganda. Seen the new Evinrude infomercial? I'm the one clearly out of control in the red center console, and I'm also the lucky guy sittin in the back seat of the Ocean Hawk, with a hot babe on each arm... :D
I do a lot of testing and data gathering with the Applications Engineers as well.
That's not a job, a job is sitting in front of computer all day crunching numbers and occasionally glancing over the screen to look at the blank gray corner. shiit, what happen to my life???

I'm the Director of Strategic Alliances for Data Return. My company provides complete IT outsourcing as well as highly managed hosting of critical applications.

Any ISV's, software vendors, or SI's give me a call.

I get paid to work crazy hours at times, see some of the funniest and craziest stuff around, drive around real fast, drink and act crazy, sneak around and just watch people. Beat up on attorneys, sometimes not very often they beat up on me. Somedays just solve other peoples problems.
Me Too! But I'm not as crazy as Bob!

Also in training for the Marine Insurance Industry. :)
