Whats the best all - around boat thats a single IYO...

decent speed, but not the fastest, size, party room, cabin room.. ride... whats the Black thunder of singles??

Definatly check out Baja's 272.

I miss that boat.

People were shocked when they found out how good it rode for a 27.

3.3 MPG with a 330HP 454 62 mph

502 MPI with a bigger cam, blueprinted bottom , labbed prop 72 on its best day

I really like the Sunsation 288... But not whole heck of alot of cabin room when compared with a Sonic, Baja. Those would be the three I would check out. Or possibly a 29 Scarab.

How about a party cat with full canvass for overnighting. Otherwise I would have to say one of the center consoles with a cudy like the Donzi or Concept sportfish boats. Lots of room, good speed, etc. They have become the SUV's of boats.

I can say I like all of those boats listed by everyone and have seen them close up.. Its all in what you want and how much you want to spend.. List those for us and we can find you a perfect ride.. Leave it to you speedwaker friends!

288 Sunsation... awesome styling.
28 Active Thunder/Chief... truly capable offshore boat.

Pretty much a dead heat for me on those two. If I were ever in the market for that size/space boat, it would be one of them.

I currently have a 25 Outlaw that is a great all around boat. Another option that seems to be gaining in popularity is a Velocity 290 SC. If I were in the market right now I'd be taking a trip to the Velocity factory to have a look around.

I guess what promtted this was that I was chattin with someone about teh ol 28 Obsession,,, The boat is HUGE.. yes I know it has twins... so we were talking whats a big single engine boat... then so on and so on...

I guess 25 and above would qualify here...

I also like teh 28 Nordic...big boat for a 28

28 sonic
28 thunder

29 scarab

always teh older 32 Black thunder with a single,...
4 of em made i believe..

any one have specs on a 29 Magic?

There is no doubt Sonic builds one of the nicest cabins, in the business..

I too looked at just about every boat listed above before buying an 05 288,, the cockpit room and cabin room are nicely proportioned, had I not already had a baja I would have also seriously considered a new 275.

my first two choices were

sunsation 288 and the A.T. 28 savage

others I looked at or were interested in

nordic 28
eliminiater 28 eagle
275 baja
28 Pantera
26 hustler
26 sonic
