Thanks guys :) I appreciate it. I really do :star:

and no Jack you weren't one of the guys that I'm annoyed with. :)

BL - WHERE DID YOU GET THAT PIC????? I have a sneaking suspicion where... :p: And I'll let you know that a certain boat is now pretty much without all of its wiring. I have no idea how I would know though :D

now that you stripped the old wiring, next Tueday you can glass in the new stringers. :laugher:  :p:

DG, from the looks of this 4 page thread it looks like you're getting the attention!

My wife wont even steer the boat while i change the cd. i wish she would take more intreast in the whole boating scene.
i'm gonna make her read this thread.

Funny.....when OB would pull the trailer out after I unloaded, I would be waiting for him and he would stop and chat for awhile......the next thing you hear is the exhaust from our boat taking off!!!! Sorry honey, not waiting anymore!!!! :D :D

I would go for a quick blast but then always come back!!!!

He would be waiting at the pier when i got back and giving me a look :devious: :devious: I would just look at him and let him think I was saying "Sorry Captain, your "First Mate" was getting alittle impatient!!!!  :winker:

CWaters - I know that most of you on the boards don't normally treat me like an idiot or see through me. I guess this thread was more of a rant about people who do.

Tony - um I'm not so certain you want me to try glassing in the stringers. The last time I tried simply gluing carpet I was covered in the stuff :( Maybe I'll bring some wet sand paper and aqua buff instead? ;) :p:

RH - I had a sneaking suspicion my picture was being taken and I was trying to limit how much it was going to show (those shorts are fairly short) ;)

Cuda - Dad and I argue about who's turn it is to drive :D

Mrs. OB - I do the same thing... ;)

DG, while I have never posted on here, I follow threads and news now and again. This one got my attention so I will make my first post as I know how you feel.

I too, own my own boat (26 SCARAB) (PROCHARGED) and men cant seem to get the fact that it is MINE, as they always ask or assume it’s my significant others boat. I change my own oil, plugs, and most recently, the impeller etc etc.

When I pull into the local restaurant’s on the water, guys assume I have no docking skill’s but after I am tied up (giggle) they usually tell me that I dock better than most guy’s. While this may be a compliment after the fact, it still seems as though they are surprised a woman can actually drive a boat period.

I must also say that my boyfriend (JUSBEENBAD on speedwake) taught me well and was very enthused that I was so eager to learn the ways of the water. The most important thing he ever told me was take my time in any situation, 1 time docking at a slow speed looks better than 5 attempts to dock at a higher speed.

When I am on the water by myself in my boat, or occasionally, my boyfriends boat, men are like horny old goats, just staring, not sure if at me, the boat, or the fact that a woman is driving a go fast boat alone. Jusbeenbad seems to think its because I am a hottie(he told me to say this) as without my knowledge he started the MY HOTTIE thread of which I am the first of many pictures. Maybe we should start a thread of women only boaters and see just how many of us there really are, including women who may not own the boat, but still not afraid to take the helm while the guy changes the CD and is getting his own damn beer and a pepsi for me.

LOL CW...........

welcome to the forum Chenette...

Karen (Greeneyedbeacher on the forum) who is my wife made a comment to me last night that some men actually ignore her when they come up to the boat and start talking to us. Of course, I'm busy taling and don't realize this when it happens..but Karen made the observation last night when we were taling to a few guys we met on the dock. They were very nice and cordial but I didn't realize that they never responsed to Karen directly even though she was very much a part of the conversation. Go figgur?

:)

Ever go somewhere when looking for a car and find the salesperson ignore your wife and only talk to you the male? Several have made this mistake when my wife and I go buy a car. She is the one picking out the car and buying it. When they ignore her I tell them she is here to buy the car and she ignores them as we walk away. :laugher:

this is getting interesting now!

DonziGirl, Chenette, Mrs. Obnoxus, GEB, and all the other ladies out there,

I promise that when i do meet you in person I will make it a point to pay you all lots of attention and i will ignore (out of respect for you) any guys you may be with.

Chenette, i think the LOL you posted under my quote means "Lots of Luck". i am sure when the Mrs. Cwaters reads this thread she will get a kick out of it. :lick: :winker:
