Frank,

That's some pretty strong VooDoo. Found out what was causing the high oil temp & pressure. Dumped the oil from the filter into a bucket and dropped in a magnet. Found large amounts of extremely fine metal particles. They almost ressemble graphite. They stick to a magnet like an etcho-shetch. Must of started to become clogged. On the good side I didn't find anything in the oil when I changed it. Why didn't I change the oil filter before? Had to special order one in. It's a HP#6. Time to pull the motor. I'll try to keep everyone posted on what I find. Special thanks to everyone who supported my efforts. Hope to see everyone next season. Send me a PM so that I can add you to my christmas list. Guess who gets a lump of coal.
Looks like we caught your fuel pump wiring issue a little too late.

Darn !!!!

We tried. :devious:

I only post when I'm working. :dead:

Well, when I am sitting back at work contemplating things. Ya know - deep thought.

2 computers - 3 phones (don't ask  ) - and designing my own products - ok, most of my own - let's me do lots of things.......................at work. :laugher:

I'm running CC's right now, if you must really know.

Hey BT, I didn't see you at rock the bay? Were you at Nauti Goose at all?

Frank
Not really Frank. We did motor through the no wake zone Saturday when the boats were returning but didn't stop. I got my arz kick by Jack Daniels the nite before was wasn't too peppy. We did see the P29 coming in as we were cruising across towards the flats. Thought about coming over for a run but figured the P29 had had enough for the day. Hopefully next year I can attend. I did my first poker run earlier in the year and it was fun. Gas was a little scary though...

How did the P29 fair? Looked like some heavy hitters were there.

it actually did pretty good. I was impressed with it in the rough water.

What poker run did you do earlier in the year? I did my first this year also, I was almost too nervous to enjoy it. I still had a great time, but I'll be more relaxed next year.

Frank

We did the Chesepeake Bay Powerboat Association Northern run. Ron and Tana in the cool flag graphics cat put it on. It was in mid august though and a tad hot... ok it was smokin hot. But I really had fun. Loving to run hard is a must for a poker run, at least the one I was in. ;) Weekend after next we are going to the races in Cambridge. That is alway a good time too.

Is this a flat tappet cam? What do you think the metal came from?

BT
Dave,

It's full roller. Somewhere internally there's metal to metal. I'm going to start to pull the drive and label hoses and wires tonight. Then on Sat. remove the riser & manifolds. Dissconnect the hoses & wiring. I'll try to pull the motor Sat afternoon.

Dave i was very happy with my boat of how i did against those big boys. once my boat hits 1-2 footers it likes fly and i love it. the boat surprises alot of people when they find out that it only has small blocks. i knew when we were entering rock the bay i would have one of the lower hp boats but that does not bother me when i win or lose a race because i am just havin fun plus after all that to rock hall and back i only used under a half tank of fuel.(GOT TO LOVE THOSE STOCK SMALL BLOCKS)

CFM,

They are Merlin Rect. Port Al. Heads. Not sure on the cc's. Motor has an full roller valvetrain. Carb is a Holley 950hp. I could go to a larger cam alone to pck some hp's.
