What boat show?

We walked in and found the Supreme Marine booth right at the top of the stairs. I stopped and talked to Perry and Big John, then they introduced me to Dave Hare, whom I spent the next 30 minutes or so talking with.
I got so lost in the conversation, I didn't realize that H2OCowgirl and the rest of the group had already seen the rest of the show and had gone in search of food. The escalator down was at the far end of the Supreme Marine booth, so I didn't see anything else other than a few Chapparals <sp?> and the Sunsations.
From what I hear, the two Sunsations stold the show hands down.

Yeah I agree it wasn't what I expected. The two Sunsations were definatly the high lite of the show. There were not any other perfomance boats there. That 288 cuddy combo was awesome.

I talked with DaveSunsation at the show and he said he'd be on town for the OP show this coming weekend too.

There is two show stoppers at the Omaha boat show, a small dealers from South Dakota brought there only Fountain. But it is a nice one, 29 w/525 efi,Extenal steering, large k planes and captains call. Midwest Paerformance Boat Sales out of Bellevue, Ne (the dealership I am selling for this weekend) brought a 2002 30 Eliminator Daytona (purple and yellow shooting flame graphic) twin 500 efi, imco drives and extension boxes, and large center k plane, runs 105 to 110 mph. It is the owners driver but if you know anyone interested, he wants to get it out the door. Gordo, the news right now is that Cottonwood is going to hold its shootout the same weekend as LOTO, where would you go?

You have GOT to be kidding me...
Shurely they wouldn't do that, would they?
Last year, the folks from Corpus Christi Texas decided they wanted to host their APBA race the same weekend as the LOTO Ozarks Shootout. I told the APBA guys that this would be a mistake, and they would lose some of their raceboats to the Ozarks that same weekend.
They didn't believe me till they found out that we wouldn't be there, Dave Scott wouldn't be there, the guys that bought the old Drambuie boat, and a couple of others.
So, to answer your question, I would REALLY hate to see the folks at Cottonwood Marina schedule the same weekend as the LOTO shootout. We had a blast at Cottonwood last year and are really looking forward to coming back this year. But if I was forced to decide between the two, I would have to go defend my winning streak at the Ozarks.
I'm still working on getting off duty for next weekends event. Hopefully we can talk more there.

I would like to try the shoot out this year on LOTO. It looks like the top speed on my class is achieveable. I sent your comments to cotton wood so they have some input. Just would not be the same without the Top Elimn8r and One Vision.

Shootout Suicide???

I'm afraid if they do that they might have another 5 year break between events. Why not the weekend after Labor day? I know that's late in the season, but it's still earlier than last year.

Shootout

I talked to one of the sponsors of the Cottonwood shootout. She said she will not have it the same weekend as the LOTO shootout, and would like the boats for the outer Omaha area to let her know if the weekend after labor day is a good weekend. Cottonwood would like to see all the competitors from last year and maybe more.

Top E, Now I really can't believe we never met before. I was down at MW boats every couple a weeks(at least) all summer shootin the chit with Marty & Rob. They are the only ones in town I will let work on my boat. Marty took care of me very well on a lot of things. They did some work on my Pantera and had my 24 Outlaw on consignment for while.
