only real advantage is the ability to conserve height, space, and 'stock' engine configuration, (add-ons no replacement of stock components). Great on an IROC or new GTO.
No the real advantage is "HEAT" or the lack of comparatively speaking to a roots. Cooler charge = more efficiency which = more power.

I believe the OEM's can package a small screw type blower more easily than a centrifugal. Most Eaton/Whipple/Magnacharger blowers are very small and can use a very short intake under them. The finished product is no taller than the factory FI intake manifold. It's blower pulley can be integrated into the serpentine belt system.

A centrifugal must sit in front of the engine like another accessory. This is not always easy, with the cramped compartments and layout of the other accessories. The centrifugal also needs additional plumbing for air routing - before and after the blower.

Lastly, production. What manufacturers can they trust to supply them with enough units and too also incorporate a warranty system with ?

More to it probably but I think these are the big one's.

Since this thread came from DominatorScott's questions:

Hey DS, tell the rest of the world what you chose and why!

My suspicion is that DS's choice was initially made purely for the 'Bling' factor.

Can you imagine a set of centrifigals in the 'King of Bling's engine bay? I can't!!

But, obviously, DS made a GREAT choice, from recent performance reports!

But since we're here...the point I was trying to advance was that NOBODY, OEM-wise, uses centrifugals. If they're better, than why not?

Not trying to start anything here, because I don't care, but you can buy cars from Detroit with Centrifugal Superchargers, and may be able to buy some crate engines in the future with them.

Actually the main reason my Dominator is sporting huffers is because a friend of mine needed some quick cash and sold me both blowers, intakes, pulley's and belts for $2400.00. So I couldn't very well say no at that price.
The BLING factor is a pretty nice bonus though.

SVO dealers ordered more mustangs with centrifugal s/c than the low profile svo roots s/c for years. Lightnings use the larger Eaton roots type ,since hood clearence isn't an issue . My colleague ordered the 07 Shelby GT 500 which I'm not sure what type of s/c it will have.Ps; just looked it up , it will have the 5.4 with a roots type .
It is 60K cdn and apperently only 12 will be available here for the first year .
