Now for the first car it was a 1969 GTS 340 that my brother inlaw gave me at the same age of boating 14. Hade to rebuild the motor due to him playing a little to hard. After that a 70 1/2 Trams Am. If I only new back then what the value of these car's were going to be. Just a couple Big Block Nova's, GTO I seam to get depressed.

1988 bmw 750iL

coincidentally it was my first BOAT! :D

i love dthat car. Big, fast (for a 5000lbs car), comfortable, and it had a ridiculous stereo that took up the entire trunk. Many MANY good times in that car. She just started ot break to much and maintence was very pricey so she had to go. Repalced it with an M Coupe that i got a KILLER deal on. Now i'm onto a 1500 pickup....

I want my M Coupe back :( at laest teh truck is supposedely cheaper and savign me $$$. And i really did need something utilitarian anyway. Hopefully i'll get another beemer soon. FYI the 750 spoiled me for life.

62 Corvette, 327, No I didn't have money. Worked nights and weekends all summer to save. Bought it and had to rebuild engine 2 weeks later. After about 6 months realized I couldn't afford it and the insurance so I sold it and bought a Kawasaki H2 750. At the time it was the fastest production bike on the market. Loved that car and sure wish I still had it.

My first car at the stupid age of 16 was a 1973 340 Duster. Bright yellow with the black 340 stripes on the side. It had headers, holley 650 , looser converter and air shocks in the rear with N50's tucked under the wheel well (I was going for that early prostreet look !)
That car was extremley clean, had buckets with a center console and a I believe rare option of a fold down rear seat with a carpeted trunk.
Unfortunatley I wrecked the car within one year. I decided to due a full pass down a side street and wailed a car that had gone thru a stop sign. No one got hurt luckily. At the time I thought the car was totaled but now I could have back halfed (tubbed) it and put a quarter on it and been fine.

First "car".....1953 Chevy sedan delivery, 6 cyl. 3sp on the tree, and a bolted on roof rack for carrying pipes. It was an old plumbing truck with ONE bucket seat, the rest of the interior was shelving and parts bins.I bought it for $25, replaced the muffler with an old one my dad had laying around and sold it for $100!!!.....Been on a roll ever since.:laugher: Wish I still had it now with the tune-port motor and 5sp I've got sitting in a Firebird!:laugher: :laugher:

71 Dodge Charger Green with a black vinyl top. 318 Auto. Got some mag wheels, thrush muffler, and a bolt under the dash 8 track tape player:D

Then it was a 67 Polara with a 383.......aw crap, never mind,I have had a whole crapload of cars since then, wish I still had 4-5 of them.

1964 1/2 Ford Mustang Fastback painted Cinnamin Brown metalic.

Went straight into the garage. One year later it came into the world....

Boss 302 - Balanced and blueprinted with a bit hotter cam. Power came on about 3500 rpm and I shifted at 7500 rpm.

57 Galaxie 9" rear stuffed with 4.30 gears and a Detroit Locker. Custom heavier driveshaft when I found the original bent.

Ford Top-Loader 4 speed shifted with a Hurst Super Shifter.

Skinny front tires and L60-15 Mickey Thompson rears, traction bars to help hook up that light body. Had to replace all the wiring from the dashboard forward. New gas tank/trunk floor. Loads of little things that took way too long... Sound familiar anyone?

Ran 12.95 thru the Corviar Turbo mufflers and with street tires. I felt like a KING!!! Wish I still had it, but sold it for a brand new 1976 280Z... On a L/Cpl's salary no less.

Hey Babybro, I have a lot of love for the Pinto:D

When I was in high school, I had a 72 Pinto with a 302 and a tunnel ram, nitrous, Top loader close ratio 4 speed and a 9" rear from an early Bronco with 4.57`s on a Detroit Locker. Had L60 15`S on the back with skinnys up front and Centerline wheels all around. It was all black. I used to run it every Wednesday night, all summer long at New England Dragway. It would consistantly run 12.2`s on street tires.

This was in 1979 and was my only car, everyday driver!:D

Great topic!!!

First Car

My first car was a 1971 Chevelle. Had 120k miles and an inline 6 cyl. Within two years it had a 400+HP small block, turbo 350 w/stall converter and a 12 bolt rear. Also added a cowl induction hood and a great paint job.

God I miss that car!!!
