You should have gone 9" , since makes no diff in airflow and would have looked more proportionate to the engine :laugher:

I used this 8" Barbron on my LS-6 .

Looks cool in person. I have a 9" that I have for my small block. The 14" won't fit.

BTW:

Thanks..........

These are different . It is like a corvette intake with the throttle body [ 90 mm ] mounted upright instead of the horizontal position . I asked the K & N guy on hotboat about an AM unit . They've been working on it for a long time , but not available yet. Might as well fabricate one myself when I have some time  .

The TB has 3 studs that goes through the composite filter/arrestor unit to fasten with nuts and a metal tripod with a single stud in the middle. Than the flimsy plastic cover fastened with a plastic knob.

I've measured the TB with a caliper and also what I've heard [ 90 mm ] . Don't like the plastic cover anyway , because it retains too much heat underneath .
Ps; yes it's a two piece intake . Wonder if they're composite or aluminum since it's painted ,and I'm not ready to take things apart yet :laugher: [ only 78 hours on them ]

I just measured inside of ledge (where arrestor would sit on) of 5.7 Vortec TB and it was 92MM. I wonder if there is a 2bbl carb near this measurement? I looked at a Rochester/Mercarb 2bbl base but that won't work I don't think - it's inside ledge measurement is approx 78mm.

Hmmmm. that would drive me up the wall. Actually as you can tell it is kinda' drivin' me up a wall.

:laugher: :laugher:

It's interesting that the 5.7 L has a larger [ 92mm ] TB versa the 6.2 L . Maybe merc was reading too much about Bernulli's principal . Smaller intake = higher velocity ? Just thinking outloud :yak:

Correction !

CFM , I took the arrestor off tonight and double checked the ID's of the 6.2 TB. The venturi is 90 mm tapering down to 73 mm at the throttle plate . So the 5.7 Vortec TB is larger .
