Sold the boat and am really looking for a project/time waster. I'm taking a break from boating for a bit to do what I did when I was 16-22, which was restore cars with my dad, except now, my daddy is not leading it, I am.
I have a buddy with a 80% finished Shell Valley kit. Great frame, great fiberglass and all new suspension parts. The body is not bolted to the frame, doors are not mounted and it comes with a "new" 428 Ford (don't say it) racing motor with 2x4's sitting on top. Never started, been sitting for 4 years. Oh, and a 4 speed tranny.
He has 90% of the parts, it just needs some basic stuff like a gas tank, wiring harness, lights, door handles and all the chrome.
My father went to look at it today for me and thinks it would take about 30k to finish it off if I don't do all the work, of which I'm more than capable of doing and have all the tools I'd need.
I was quoted a price that is really hard to pass up (under 15k for everything) and I'm not sure what to do. So I am turning to the board for some advice and recommendations.
