Thought I had my mind made up on buying a Ford F 150. Then I test drove a Tundra, you know, just to check out the last option, and WOW!

The ride isn't quit a smooth, but the power is great! Quiet inside, seats are very nice, feels a little smaller inside, but for my daily drive with just me in it, lots of room.

They are holding there value better, and its cheaper to buy a loaded extended cab, compared to a lariet by 5 grand!

The Ford to me looks a bit better, but if I tire up the Toyota, it looks just as tough! The stock tires to me are a little small.

Also there aren't as many Toyotas running around. Tons of Fords on the road.

Thoughts?

The closest, if not on par, in my opinion the Ford has similar qualty. But I'm only speaking from test drives, and from driving Firstborns Loaded F 150.

I have test drive the Ford at least three times, and everything is great, acept for the power :( It just isn't there! And I'm comming from a 5000lbs SUV with V6. Not saying my VW is faster, is just seems to have more passing ability than this 300hp Ford. I don't know where the power is going to. i think the 4 speed tranny is a bad match for the 5.4 . it should have 5 gears, not 4.

Maybe as a comparison you should go drive the Nissan Titan or the Armada.... A girl here at work just got a Frontier with the Nismo package...SC (260hp) What a sweet truck! I want one! But alas I need a 3/4 ton at least...

BTW - I owned a Tacoma limited for 4 years, loved it! It held its value great.. 1 set of tires and I drove it 160k miles... (they were totally exhausted tires though...lol) Never missed a beat...

In my opinion Toyota and truck just don't go in the same sentence. :confused1
One of my co-workers just bought one today and keeps taunting me to a pull-off in the parking lot against my 3/4 ton Dodge V-10 4x4.
I think tomorrow I will drag him around the parking lot a few times just to put him in his place. :laugher:

I have to agree...lol.. fugly.. :dead1: :laugher:

This Frontier is sweet though...

I have been eye balling the Armada's for some time, just don't know if it will handle the Big Boy Boat...

Do it Do it... post pictures as well!!!! :D

I've had 2 Tacomas and just picked up my new Tundra on Saturday.......

My Tacomas NEVER had a problem.....

I work on cars for a living......I will NOT fix my daily driver!......so I buy Toyotas.

Made in America too......:).....if you're worried about that sort of thing.

Canada J- I work at a ford dealer and own a 04 f150 lariat and LOVE IT. i pull my formula with it at a combined total weight of 8900 pounds and has no problem doing it. My truck has 42000 on it no problems with it. :) I may be able to help on the price as well for ya :winker:

I bought a new Frontier a couple months ago ,traded in my 1ton chevy and traded the wifes new Tahoe in for a Nissan Altima.I think I just paniced a bit over the gas prices rising. They are not bad vehicles for daily driving but I never pictured myself buying foreign cars .Now I am back in the market for a good 3/4ton 4x4 to pull the boat with.Kinda shot myself in the foot the 1 ton was paid for

Now matter how gould something appears, if it is not comfortable for you to drive it is worth nothing.

That said, I worked for Toyota for many years and can't say enough about them. Then again, our reps loved us. :laugher: :laugher:

What a bunch of crap to write.

I now own a Silverado now with near 40,000 miles. Still a tight vehicle with no rattles or bangs.

I sold my 97 F150 3 years ago with 70,000 miles on the worst roads in the country. Not a single rattle or bang in this one either.

Toyota built in American, yeah assembled. Engineering and parts are almost totally from outside the country and that's where the profits go, too.

Easy now! :D

I'm just stating my personal experience. I've been in them all and owned new Chevy and Toyotas the last few years. No comparison at all. The Tundra was a far superior truck when it came to quality. And I now own another Chevy!

Want a real test? Go test drive a Tundra and 1/2 ton Chevy, Ford and Dodge with 50,000 miles on them. The Tundra will still ride like a Buick and the other three will be brick wagon rattletraps.
I have to disagree with you there. I have a 3/4 Ton Ram 4x4 with 80,000 miles on it and it still rides great with no rattles at all.
My last truck was a GMC Z-71 with 190,000 on the original engine and drive train and also rode like the day I bought it. Both of these trucks have to tow the Dominator in the summer and sleds in the winter and I for one don't think a Toyota or other foreign model truck would withstand that challenge.
In my opinion you can't beat an american made truck if you need a work horse. If you want a wanna be truck the Toyota,Nissan,or Honda is the way to go.
I will probably catch some flack over this post but that is my opinion.

Nah opinions are what this board is for! :D

Like I said my personal experiences were much different. But then again I'm hard on my trucks. My "off-road" trucks see off-road quite often! :D

My 2000 Chevy was in the shop all the time. Windshield leaking, vibration, tailgate latch not working, windnoise, you name it. My Toyota was in the shop one time in the same amount of time. I now have a 2005 Chevy Silverado with 5000 miles and I already miss my Toyota. And a Toyota getting 200,000-300,000 miles ona a drivetrain is "average". :D

Just my $.02.
