To my knowledge there isn't a sled out there that will out run a T-Cat on the Top end.
I have yet to see a twin cylinder hang with a T-Cat for very long. Granted the big twins have gobs of torque so they jump out off the gate but once a triple gets wound up your gonna get passed.
I think that all the manufacturers made a HUGE mistake by doing away with the big triples.

Everybody just bow to the King, and I don't mean Elvis.
(I actually have a T-shirt that says that.)
Damn, I had to put my shades on to look at that pic! :D

I agree the TCAT has some wicked top-end. However I did give a lot of TCATS fits even accross the lake with my Ultra and my friend's XCR8. But my chit is always dialed in! :D

Manufacturers had no choice but to drop the trips, they weren't selling. When the big twins started coming out triples sales fell dramatically. Hell, some sleds couldn't even race sanctioned races because they weren't 500 sold. But it would have been nice for them to keep the big dog available at the least. And I personally think that a XCR8 motor in an Edge chassis would have sold for Polaris!

Spoken like a true Arctic Cat guy !!! Wanna run a little XCR800 ?!?!? Doesn't have to be a drag race either, the Polaris loves the top end. :D

My T-Cat isn't much for drag racing anymore since I installed the 2inch mountain track. Unless we are talking about running in 2-3 feet of powder which is what my T-Cat is set up for now.
I found it was a lot more fun to run in the deep stuff than to play on the lakes or trails. There is nothing like carrying the ski's for a 100+ yards in 3ft of snow across an open field while the trail sleds with the 1 inch lug tracks are fighting to stay on top of the snow and not get buried.

Just so you guys know, which you probably do.

A T-Cat 1000 with a 2 inch paddle is one that you better be able to stay in front of or you'll be going 2 mph or jammed in a tree - all because you can't see squat.

Dom - do you provide free shield tear off's for those that ride with you ?

I am installing a 4 inch extension to my snowflap because the guys I ride with complained about the 40+ roostertail of snow she would throw out the back.

Friend just called and said the rollers in his spider are shot and he wants me to rebuild it Friday so he can go riding this weekend! I just can't get away from working on these damn things!

Oh well, he may have to leave it here all week so I can get it dialed in for him! :D

I feel for ya bro. It happens to me all winter with some of my friends sleds and has been known to happen in the summer with their boats. But I don't mind. :) Until it comes time for me to need some help then everyone seems to evaporate into thin air which has happened on a few occassions. :angry1:

I don't mind helping out at all and if I'm gonna work on a sled I'd rather it be clutching than anything else. But the winter just started and I've had 3 people ask me to work on their sleds already! :(

Well, I bought one of those lemon Fusion 900's. soooooooooooooooo, just to get the party started and used to the ordeal, I brought it to the dealer two week-ends ago. :D

No, haven't ridden it yet. 0 miles.

I figured I might as well excercise the routine.

Speaking of which - what's the best system you guys have for towing a dead sled ? Does that think under the track really help? Who's tow rope system?

Yeh, said light heartely but still ultra serious. There's a good % shict will hit the fan a few times.

You can use any type of towstrap, just make sure you take the belt off when towing!

I don't think the Fusion will leave you stranded. Their issues are with poor performance, not reliability. That being said, don't be surprised when your wife keeps showing you the snowflap on that 600! :D

I was thinking more of:

Hanging out, machine off, smoking a butt, looking down the trail, and then you see:

A big green/black thing pointed at you, 1000cc triple at major rpms just screamin, driver foaming froth out of the helmet and shield, big shict eatin grin, and thumb thru the bars - aimin straight at you with no way to turn.

:laugher: :laugher: :laugher:

I can only imagine how DS drives. Ballz to the F'n Wallz.

Nope. Don't want him behind me. No way. :laugher: :laugher: :laugher:

you know CFM ,
What you said reminds me of a story that happened about 6 or 7 years ago. Some friends brought this AC guy up with a Tcat. Guy was talking all kinds of smack. Well , Yes his sled was fast , yes the guy was out of control ! Yes I happened to be behind him (it was WAY cool to watch) he went around a corner , pretty much laid the sled over on its side, Floored it, went into the woods, missed anything big, came back out on the trail , and looked back and gave me the thumbs up ??!? The guy was ******* crazy !!

Funny thing is he owned a 30 Awesome Cat with a blown 454 and said it ran 130 :laugher:

Every cat I ever gps'd was usually off 12 mph at 100 mph (88mph). I own 4 different cats,my zr800/900 I took speedo and cable off and plugged the hole(saves 2- 3 pounds),Smitty

Best of the best

Come on guys, why not just go for everything? A good riding twin cylinder 1000cc that runs smoother then and triple ive ever had and runs 120 on GPS bone stock while getting 15mpg average on trails and lakes.....just needs better front shocks which are installed this year! Best handling sled on smooth trails I ever rode and with the new piggyback shocks it will run over the moguls now too.......

Thanks, its the coolest sled I ever rode. If hes getting one buy the 06 X model. The shocks on the 05 and the 06 regular sled SUCK unless you just run the lakes. A few issues last year but SKI DOO came through with a bunch of updates this year and it should all be good.
