Im looking for a bracket to secure my Danforth style anchor in my anchor locker. All I come up with is rail mount brackets. I know there is a bracket I just cant find it. Any help appreciated. I would also like to find some rubber caps for the ends of the bar on the anchor to help prevent damage when my buddies are pulling it up. Can you tell I have a new boat ?

Invest in a box anchor from http://www.slideanchor.com/box.asp

Its the best anchor out there, and trumps any danforth style I have ever used. Its easy to store; requires no chain, and is easy set and retrieve. I store mine in a padded duffle bag; rope and all, and it tucks anywhere when collapsed.

I already have a box anchor but how do you keep that from flying around? I carry both on the boat/ Problem is my wife doesnt lik the box anchor because it requires assembly. Works great but is somewhat difficult to deploy.

I ate up my under rear seat storage with subwoofers on this boat, but I have long skinny gunwale compartments and long skinny compartments under my u-shaped couch in the cabin where I store the box anchor in its padded bag.

See if you can view this thread on OSO with some detailed pics of some protective lining I built for my Sonic for under the rear seat, or anywhere. I made it out of the plastic snap together material that you put in a workshop or garage flooring.

Yup, a Fortress for a 16-27' boat weighs four pounds. On the other end, my small box anchor weighs 18 pounds. Problem is I fish alot so the anchor is in and out all day. The boats a 23' Concept that only weighs 3000 pounds. The problem with expensive anchors here is that we do lose them now and then while fishing wrecks and man made reefs. They get hung up and cant be retrieved.
