Please do not tell me you are going to try to run over 100 on Lake Washington??? That would simply be insane. Maybe on the sound, but traffic is too out of hand to run that on LW.

Maybe not in the summer time but in the winter time, the lake is dead calm and nobody is around. That's partly why I'd like to have the canopy, so I can go out in the winter time when it's cold and not have to get chilly from the wind. Sound ok?

Sure, winter is much safer for those speeds on LW. You said you were going to be running in rough water though. Just curious where. The roughest I have seen LW is either on a busy summer day, or during a windy winter storm. Other then wind storms, I had never really seen the sound that rough ecept in some of the narrows. Good luck in your boat search and be safe... :)

Wow, that's an awesome boat! Are those the 575sci's? May I ask what the cost came out to after you put those engines in? In the summer time, does and can get a little rough on lake washington, not stormy rough. I'm just looking for something that will handle fairly well in the chop, a whole lot better than the boat that I have now atleast.

If I had to guess I would say my total cost in the engines alone was somewhere around ?????. As anyone here will tell you this boat is my baby and has been an on-going obsession for the last 3 years. :confused1
I can tell you from personal experience that once you are bitten by the boating speed bug it tends to consume you and there is NO cure. :laugher:

You are correct, that is why I said summer traffis and winter storms... :winker: I used to live out there and spent about 6 days a week on LW most of the year. :D

No they are not 575 SCI's. They are 502 blocks that have been breathed on somewhat, :winker: with all the good stuff in the motors and a little head work. If I had to guess they are somewhere between 650-700HP per side.

Wow, sounds awesome! Are they pretty reliable and can not having to work on the constantly to do this and that to them to keep them going?
For the most part they are reliable meaning they start everytime. But they are kinda fussy to air temp, humidity ect. But if there are trade-off's in wanting to go fast.
Prolonged idling is the one thing they don't like on those days when its 85+ degrees or high humidity.

I was thinking about this. Do you guy's think it would even be possible to order a boat with a stripped out cabin? If it was possible, I wonder how much they would knock off on the price? ( I should look into this!)

Of course you can, they will not knock off too much.

To me, it seems like they would. Aren't the cabins like 50 percent of the boat? They have lighting, plumbing, bathroom ext, wouldn't that add up to alot?
All I can say is from years of working in the marine business, no a cabin does not equate to 50% of a boat. You may get a maximum of 10% off,but that is it. On the race boat you claim to be looking at, do you think there is a cvabin on that? Have you checked out the prices in Cig's? many of those only have half a cabin or no cabin at all. For a boat you are looking at many of the dollars go into R&d, a large chunck in motors and drives. That does not leave much left...
