Sounds like you got a raw deal. But, there are always two sides to every story. I have seen it first hand many times. I hope everything works out for you but coming on public boating forums and bashing is not the way to accomplish a resolution to your problems. Good luck.

Dean, I have read your post's on OSO. I have have a small boat shop /Marina on my lake and I feel for you. I fix stuff all the time from the "Big Dealers." I sleep very well at night knowing I am doing honest work! I , personally think that some shops, in my area, don't do honest work. I am proud of my reputation, 11 years in businesss, BTW. They know I am honest, and I am given Cart Blanche in 99% of my work. I want the same thing they do, a problem free boat for the Summer. I want someone to say " Jeff has worked on my boat for years and I never have any problems."

I am sorry for all the troubles you have had! I hope you get a result that makes you happy! :)

I disagree, I think if your telling the truth about a less than scruptulous company, this is exactly where to air it out.

I take everything I read with a grain of salt, but if you hear about a company good or bad from several people, it helps all of us.

Thanks, the local guys who work on boat are AMAZING, the last thing I could ever do is utter a bad word (excpt at the price, but I get I get what I pay for, at least in Paducah).

Local guys fixed this mess, and did a HELL of a job.

I am assuming your post was directed toward me?

I agree IF someone is telling the truth. But you never know when someone is telling the truth. Like I said, two sides to every story and this type of work is not black and white, there is A LOT of grey. I am sure Randy's story is VERY different. When someone comes on and starts bashing that hardcore I start doubting their credibility. Period.

I know, you show up somewhere new with bad news and everyone has to wonder, does this guy have a real complaint, or is he trying to use public perception to get something he does not deserve. I know I ask that question when I read a complaint, so the one complaint I have I amke sure I document well before ever opening my mouth.

I would say we agree, the beauty of these forums is we learn fro meach other. I basically designed power plants, prop sizes, paint paterns, boat care, everything here. I also buy things for the guys recommend here. I have never been steered the wrong direction.

I apprecieate that, more than you know, make a deal with you, e-mail me off line, I will send you copies of SIGNED documents stating EXACTLY what I have stated, written by THIRD PARTIES.

This sounds so sureal I would think the guy saying it was full of schite, I know that. So send me an e-mail link, I will send the arbitration documents that state "Randy winterized the boat for free and anyone who charges him ofr that is dishonest", and the statments written by the local shop owner, and the receipt where the work was done.

Only one catch, if I send the documents, you report back here.... deal?

I agree, Profiled, do you have pictures of the work?,

I just like looking at pictures
most of the docs are in PDF format, the pics are large, VERY large so they can show detail. Send me a e-mail off line and I will send them. But once reviewed report back here either I am full of schit, or I am telling the truth, deal?

Here is the deal and what I want. Profile IA SCREWED me, then kept it up, I have buddies who could never have afforded to fix what was done, I am fortunate, I could, but no one deserves this crap. If it keeps one person from getting this screw job, I have gotten what I want.

Your not getting my point. My point is the work that was done to your boat was subjective, therefore very hard to prove. A lot of grey area and not much black and white. What do the documents PROVE? Colors, paint, repairs, etc all subjective.

I am not saying that these things didn't happen. I am saying if they did you went about posting it the wrong way. There are ways to get your point accross without bashing like you did. Like I said, I hope it all works out for you.

Ummm, thinking about your commnets..... can I clarify?

Work order says "paint hull red" "add orange/yellow graphics" and "Red w/ White logo" interior.

Boat came back with NO orange or yellow ANYWHERE, 1/3 hull painted, NO hull repair (needed a couple small places fixed, not big deals, but deals I paid for none the less). Frozen motors.....

When I ask just how in the hell they got GRAY STRIPE out of ORANGE/YELLOW and where in the hell did the white interior come from was told "we thought it would look better with these colors."

As to quality of work, letters from independent shops are avaliable for the world to see, they are public record, already in a courts hands...

Let me see if I can attach them.... nope, will not let me load PDF.....

One more time. I am not saying you're lying. But you are going about this the wrong way. Like I said, there are ways to get your point accross without bashing like you did. You chose not to do it that way.
I think I understand, I guess we all process info differently, and I am sure my anger comes through. I actually edited that post three times and took out the most obvious stuff, but without doubt, if I were discussing a non connected third party I probably could tone it down even more...

I dont know Dean personaly, but he went out of his way to give me some excellent tax information for free, and for a CPA to do that during tax season leads me to belive hes a straight up guy. We did not discuss his issues with profile and I have no idea about whats up with them.

I think I am sympathetic?

I got screwed real bad by an engine builder and if I told the story here nobody would ever believe my side.

I ended up having to use an attorney to get some satisfaction but lost the use of my boat for a year. Actually more than a year.

I would not bash him here even if I thought it would matter to him because it just doesn't make it better. Salt in an old wound so to speak.

I had all kinds of documentation as well but when it comes down to it ..............it is still my side of the story.

If I ever hear his name come up I cringe.

He is living in his own muck so I take solice in knowing that he is suffering by his own hand.

These boards are great for helping other boaters keep from getting screwed.
Wouldnt you just hate so see someone else from here get screwed by the same guy. Knowing you could have prevented it ?

YES

This is a local guy and most people around here know me and the story. i have had my opportunities to steer people clear.
My point was that this happened in 2004 and it is still being thrashed on Speedwake. I just don't want to live in the past. What's done is done.
