and his Brough Superior

An old buddy of mine has an SS 100 [ I've heard one sold for $ 75K us] here ,and keeps an SS 80 over in england for the Goodwood parades . Seems like your buddy has a few machines  . Several friends of mine have a whole bunch too. One has over 50 bikes all over the house and his garage . Vincent Rapide , works Nortons and few rarities .

I would have to say this one. And only because the man that built it is one of my main inspirations. His son that’s sitting on the tank is now 54 years old. His wife was showing off her watch that Max won street racing that bike. lol
The bike was destroyed but we are building a clone to it right now.
Twin engine, supercharged on nitro back in the day. I guess it owned top fuel back in the late 50’s early 60’s The clone will run on alky.

mirage257 you will like this one.
a little of topic but still bike related.

When Max started racing the above bike he parked his blown Vincent. Well it was more then parked. It was totally dissembled. Anyway he told his son if he could put it together he could have it. So like any 9 year old kid, he dragged the parts in his bedroom and got cracking on it.

Here it is sitting in Tim's room. His dad used to show it off to all his racer buddys back then. Kinda a look what my kid has type of thing.

That was the only pic of it I had ever seen.
He sold it down the road for 350 bucks so he could get a honda scrambler. Anyway not long ago we were driving down the road and spotted it in the back of a guys truck. Flagged him down and needless to say he was stoked to meet not only someone who knew the history but the last guy (and son of the original builder) to put it together.

He bought it from someone on the east coast and said he paid 15K for it! It's almost a basket case too. wow, who would have ever known.

Bought a new Triumph 650 Bonneville in '72. In 1974 I bought a new Triumph 750 Trident, the three cylinder heavy weight.

The Bonneville weighed 382 pounds while the Trident was about a hundred pounds heavier.

The Bonneville ran out of RPMs at 110 MPH with the Trident taching out at 126.

Even though the Trident was faster, the Bonneville felt faster!

I loved the sound of that 650 with a pair of shorties!

Superdave , do a search on Paul Brodie . Here's one link > http://mtnbikehalloffame.com/inductees.cfm?page=99&maid=94 . Check out the " British columbians" section.

Paul bought a Vincent engine from my buddy for a measly couple thousand and built a bike around it ,with lots of carbon fiber and billet pieces . My buddy also had 3 BSA DBD Goldstars laying around that wish I bought one of them  . Lots of local talents around here.
This bike [only 3 made by a White Rock machinist] ended up in Leno's collection . Could have bought it for around 5 K .
