There are not to many site's on the net that do a lot of marine performance upgrade's so if i may, has anyone here ever did any simple bolt on performance mod's?

What i was tinkering with was a manifold add and maybe some chip enhancement's......as to a cam i am a bit reluctant there.

Perhaps's this is all folly looking @ the stock exhaust, but any info or link's would be greatly appreciated...

Swap in a 350 Mag and sell your current setup would be best.

But a 4.3 is a 350 with 2 cyl cut off so it would respond well also. And there is a few mfg making exhaust for a 4.3

I agree with the above that dropping in a 350 would be the most logical choice. I do think it would be cool to do a blow thru carb Pro Charger or Vortec Supercharger on the V6! It would be a pretty involved project, but it definately could be done.

I understand your post's quite well, but i am aiming for a 4.3 upgrade, all it lacks is tourqe. Simply put this is a breathing problem.

Dont get me wrong guy's i really appreciate the input, but im hoping for a induction and tbi upgrade to get 30-50 ponies that will get me 60 mph plus.

I begging a 4.3 guy to help me thourgh this, it should be dam simple but its been to long since ive done this kind of thing (20 yrs)

2001 should have Vortec heads. Install a better Hyd roller cam and install an Edelbrock or GM 4bbl intake with a 600cfm carb and through the TBI in the waste basket. The TBI itself is fine, it's the lack of programming for engine upgrades that is lacking. The GM Tbi flows 480cfm - enough for your 4.3.

250-270HP is easy with these - but you'll need a cam over 225hp. Then of course, intake and carb - as mentioned.

I have it all backward's then, I initially though the exhaust would be the limiting factor. May i ask is the lack of support for chip's due to the fact it's a marine engine? Or is it the 4.3 in general....................or probably due the restrictive size of the tbi air flow, anyway's thanks for the reply's.
