I have developed a very strange ill handling problem.
Specs: Wellcaft twin 260 Alpha 1's, w/tie bar, w/Bennetts. 19 x 21 3 blade.
First, she's NOT porpoising. At speed (on plane), above 35 mph the boat wants to suddenly dart left and dance to the right. Mostly dart sharp left. Almost to scary to handle, feels like I'm loosing control. The only thing I can do is back down to recover the steering.:nono:
Also, at that time (35+ mph), it almost seems like she's is running at an 11 o'clock angle (left to right). I have tabs up or set to the level the boat for people weight. Trim tabs adj. does not seem to matter in the squirliness of the ride.
One thing I did do was add skeg guards since my skegs were whittled down to damn near nothing. Could this be a problem? (I know I can remove them to check, but perhaps someone has an answer.) Stern drive alignment, toe-in /out? Prop Cavitation? Uneven trim? How accurate are the trim guages? Gimbals? Bad angle on skegs?
Any one had this problem?
