The crash in the canal thread was closed but it was obviously of interest to some people. Didn't seem like it was getting out of hand or anything. Why was it closed?

If anyone has a specific question about the way a particular thread or post was handled by the Speedwake moderators, please feel free to PM any one of us and we will be happy to discuss it with you. Every member of Speedwake should be well aware of the posting rules as well as the moderators' right to take appropriate action. There are no 'Board gods' on Speedwake... only dedicated moderators who volunteer their time to make Speedwake the great site that it is.
As for the crash thread, see Jeff's comment in the thread... the crash itself is old news and speculation about the cause or derogatory comments made by individuals who were not involved doesn't help anyone. If you'd like to continue to discuss one of the other topics in the crash thread, such as the use of lanyards, please feel free to start a new thread.

the only editing that was done was done by the posters themselves. When a thread starts to go nowhere and only harbors ill feelings among people who are here for the same reason they are closed. Even Ike's Brother thanked me for closing a thread this summer he was participating in. Believe it or not, most of the threads that are closed are protect YOU from getting yourself banned here, because we can see when tempers are running high and cooler minds need to prevail.
If you think that a thread has content that is valid and can be continued without generating a lot of hatred please be our guest to start another and please attempt to keep it on track.
For instance - a good idea might be: Lanyards - do you wear one or why not?
