I'm an attorney and specialize in land-use and development permitting - the term "dirtlawyer" is a slang/nickname for those in my profession who do this type of work. Unfortunately, my boating friends who frequent this and another boating site on which I am "dirtlawyer" as well, have shortened the name to just "Dirt"... that one takes some explaining sometimes... :laugher: :laugher:

I graduated high school in 1998
My favorite boat was a sunsation

so I put the two together in 1998 as an email address and it has stuck ever since.

It is alot easier than remember misc. names and log ins on many other sites!

My screen name was actually derived from a skit on Saturday Night Live. Do you remember SteveMan, making copies ? :) This guy in the office would refer to people by their first name, then add "man" to it. He also would go add "miester" and other names.
So ... shortly afterward, I was referred to as "DonMan", "DonMeister" and so on. My given name is Donnie.

"DonMan" stuck and now a lot of my friends and family call me DonMan.

I'm Italian, so the guys at the shop called me el wapo when I got to my first squadron in 1998, but one day in Texas a few years ago one of the guys put a message on the dry erase board and misspelled it and wrote EL Guapo call maintenance control. I saw that and laughed. I knew what they meant but they wrote hansom man in Spanish, I am a good looking cat so the name stuck and I left it like that ever since. Real name is JOHN ITALIANO.

My second boat had a lot of mahogany and brass on it which I always kept varnished and buffed. When people first saw it they inevitably said "WOW" which became the name of the boat. Since it was a 23 ft. sailboat, I figured if I ever capsized it the name would read MOM. I always went by my middle name which is Vallis and many just abbreviated it to Val. Wowval pretty much became my nickname and has stuck for the past 30 years.

I just so happened to be opening a winning bid package from Ebay with the original Optimus Prime transformer in it when I was singing up for Speedwake. I had no idea at that moment in time that I would be know as Optimus Prime.

It still is strange to be out somewhere and have somebody come up to you and say "Are you Optimus Prime?" :laugher: :laugher:

I can't wait till Key West introductions!!! :laugher:
