tcob remembers this:

When I bought my first go fast I hadn't named it right away. My wife was away for the weekend so my daughter, who was 4 years old at the time, and I spent the weekend on the boat. I wasn't used to driving a go fast at the time and like a newbie ran WOT, fully trimmed and tabs full up. Then I hit a huge roller and was airborn and I sware you could have counted to 4 before it landed. I pulled the throttle back to an idle while I let my heart find its way back from my throat. My daughter couldn't see over the dash at that age and really didn't know what happened. So as I was idling along she looked at me and said "Go Fast Daddy!". That name wound up on the boat the next week and around the time I joined Speedwake.

I've had the 38 for 3 years now and still haven't named it but if I don't soon it'll be "Go Fast Grandpa" :laugher:

This was her then:

I have a 519DVX Ranger bass boat. I'm not in the powerboat world yet, but working on/thinking about it. For now, I just drool and offer my general boating experience if/when it might help someone.
Don't cut yourself off too short there... My brother-in-law's fishhead boat goes in the lower 80's ... and he spanked a few go-fast boats on a local poker run this summer.....

:D

Thanks! Best I've seen is 68.4 GPS. Average day...64-66. Not bad at all. I could most likely break the 70 mark, but that would take a few grand by adding a jack plate and a worked prop. I'd rather put that money towards adding a Formula to the collection!! Fish can't swim that fast. :laugher:

I'm Italian, so the guys at the shop called me el wapo when I got to my first squadron in 1998, but one day in Texas a few years ago one of the guys put a message on the dry erase board and misspelled it and wrote EL Guapo call maintenance control. I saw that and laughed. I knew what they meant but they wrote hansom man in Spanish, I am a good looking cat so the name stuck and I left it like that ever since. Real name is JOHN ITALIANO.
Babe .. you are a good looking cat....

I have been known to speak my mind at times, mainly to ex-girfriends,wives, current wife, they all kept saying the same thing "your Not Right",

after a couple years on SW, I found that I am probably the most sane one on the site, except maybe Ghart ;)

Happens to the best of us, I started over at 31, but being happy is Priceless ;)

The same name for all boards and first email address back in 94.

With a last name of Treadwell, and back in elem school, jr high and later, the nicknames were Treads.

Girlfriends were always reTreads. :laugher:

It's the name of my boat (technically the boat should be Herdiamond II, but I liked to keep the original).

And no - I'm not her diamond, the boat is. My wife and I boat our first boat together when we were dating (not even engaged). After we bought it I told her I had no money left for a ring so don't expect to get engaged any time soon. Little did she know that I had already bought the ring and was just waiting to ask her. So for those 2 weeks before I asked her, the boat was "her diamond".
