I have a friend who lives in Chesapeake City, MD.
I asked him for an update on the Canal Days scuttlebutt and what happened to the mayor.
Just FYI - you may have heard differently. Rumors fly.
Here's what he had to say. :cheers:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mayor Bernstein wisely decided not to run for re-election and is out of office as of April.
Good riddance to our anti-Canal Day mayor.
It seems his approval rating plummeted after his ranting about ending Canal Days.
The lastest is that they may restrict the number of boats to 300 in the basin.
That's about the number that arrive by Saturday morning every year anyway.
We usually get there on Thursday afternoon.
If they go ahead with the restrictions I will head down Wednesday afternoon this year.
A few of our other raft up friends are planning to do the same.
See you out there.
