Sacandaga Ice Out..

Story is they were running close to shore last fall when the lake was low, ran it up on a big boulder, and couldn't get it off. Prolly flatlanders, as the lake came back, and they could have retrieved it.

I'm thinkin of claiming salvage rights.. ;) :laugher:

why does the ice sink? seems to me it will just melt and disappear. Maybecause I am a good old southern boy I dont understand, but all the ice I have seen floats, it doesnt sink. And I dont think it will sink and stay at the botton until it comes back up? you northern guys have me worried that you really believe this. But down here the ice floats and melts away, it does not sink.

Please help out a Dumb Country bumpkin.

Not on Sacanadaga. The ice sinks. Then it rises again in the fall.

You have to be joking, right,,,,you dont really think it goes to the bottom and stays there until fall do you?

We may be from the south, but so is most of the presidents. So we all are not that dumb.

You better hope the ice sinks were it is.... otherwise you may have to dive pretty deep to retrieve it... course you could always wait until next fall when it floats back up with the ice :D

wait a minute . i think that logic was harder to follow than our joking about the ice :laugher: :laugher: :laugher: no disrespect to the south either. :D
